Is anyone here tired of hearing how bad the market is? Each day, I am inundated by both consumers and agents who are in a perennial state of depression. "The market is terrible." "I don't think housing will ever rebound." "Homeownership isn't what it is cracked up to be."
Don't misunderstand me, I too miss the good old days of around 2003-2006. In fact, my best production year ever was in 2006 and I know I lived it up! But when you fast forward to the present market- things are not like they were. However, if we all could get a collective grip and realize that things could be much worse we'd be much better off. Which brings me to my blog title: What are you doing about it? I'd love to hear from other agents out there who have turned this "frown of a market" upside down. Share with me how you are persevering. What are you doing differently that is actually making you a better more knowledgeable, real estate professional?
I'm sitting here in the Tech room at the National Association of Realtors Conference taking a brief respite from today's activities. It's been a whirlwind day. First, went to Raincamp, which was awesome. Then I reported to duty as a 2011 NAR YPN Committee member. I'm so excited about this organization and can't wait to get started. Next up is the Grand Expo followed by the annual YPN party.
I have committed to being here each year, not just for the fun, but because it is important to surround yourself with like minded-driven Realtors who want to affect change in a big way. Gotta go now to meet a friend before the Expo. Maybe next year, I'll be meeting you.
