It always makes me shake my head to hear the media-induced real estate market ignorance floating around out there... you aren't doing yourself any good listening to National news tell you about your local real estate market. Depending on where you are, your market might be doing great while the National averages are sad and pathetic, or, vice-versa.

Regardless, for all you frustrated home sellers out there, PLEASE pick up your phone and talk with me about what our local market is all about - even if you are THINKING about selling your home. You may be surprised of what I have to say! For example - I ran into an old friend today who asked me how the real estate market is doing. He looked at me with "I'm so sorry" eyes before I even had a chance to tell him how things are GREAT and that my Team is very busy helping our buyers and sellers! He was shocked to hear that anyone can get a home loan. I reminded him there is plenty of money out there for borrowing, that, if you have fair or better credit with a stable work history and at least a 3.5% down payment (unless you are a Vet - 0% down payment), you are good to go!

So, before pulling your hair out, Mr and Mrs Seller, find out exactly what the facts are! Real estate is local, and, in the Northern VA market, pricepoint matters - some pricepoints are selling better than others. Looking for a great deal? Click here. Want to see what your home is worth?
