Golden Gate Park

People all over the country (and the world) know of San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The Music Concourse, Japanese Tea Garden, Academy of Sciences, deYoung Museum, Stow Lake and the botanical gardens are visited by thousands on a daily basis. However, not many people know the numerous little paths and out-of-the-way places tucked into this treasured park.

We love to explore our city and a recent hike through the park, from the Panhandle at the eastern edge to the ocean at the west, took us through in a number of the hidden glens and lesser-seen sights, and gave us plenty of solitude in the midst of a vibrant city.

Enjoy the tour!

The lovely walk to my branch library
Golden Gate Valley Branch Library, SFThe small physical size of San Francisco and its many distinct neighborhoods creates an atmosphere conducive to walking. A short walk (7 blocks) from my house takes me to the Golden Gate Valley branch library, housed in a beautifully refurbished building and staffed with friendly, helpful librarians.

Blue Fog coffee and deli, SFDepending on my route, I can choose to take in some steep hills (great cardio workout!) or add a block for a more gentle route.

VictoriansWhichever I choose, I can enjoy the lovely Victorian houses along the way, stop in for a coffee at one or more coffee houses, enjoy a leafy green neighborhood park, or continue the walk to the shops on nearby Union Street or run errands on Polk Street, close to home.

East Meets West - The Year of the Dragon

Dragon Float at SF Civic Plaza

mucisian at the farmer's marketMost Sunday mornings I start the day by walking to one of the Farmer's Markets. One of the largest ones is the Heart of the City Farmer's Market held at the United Nations' Plaza near the Civic Center.

Dragon Head, SF Civic Plaza

There's always something going on in San Francisco--people to chat with and learn from, new ideas to ponder. I suspect this beautiful dragon will have a major role in the Chinese New Year parade which will be held Saturday evening, 2/11/12.

What makes a home like 93 Hilltop Drive sell quickly, with multiple offers, and over asking? It's usually a combination of things:

  1. Proper pricing. Buyers shy away from homes they perceive as being overpriced.
  2. Proper physical presentation. De-clutter and de-personalize; take care of maintenance items; paint; clean thoroughly. Think of getting your house ready for a gala party--make it welcoming; make it shine!
  3. Attention to paperwork. No one enjoys filling out disclosures, or getting and paying for various inspection reports before a home goes on the market. But thoroughness is appreciated by buyers, and gives them confidence. Make it easy for them to want to buy your house.
  4. Marketing. Know the pros and cons of your particular property. Your Realtor® should market the property in a variety of ways to reach as many likely buyers as possible. Bring a sense of excitement to the house and help buyers feel what it might be like to live here. Highlight and promote what makes your property special and unique

If you're thinking of selling your San Carlos or mid-peninsula home and would like to talk, please give me a call at 650-465-4547 or email Lottie@LottieKendall.com
