I am part of the FabulousSouthBay team of Danielle Newson and myself.
Both Danielle and I were originally trained as engineers (me, a BSME, Michigan State) and I also have an MBA from University of Southern California (USC) (Fight On, Trojans!). Danielle and I both have Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI ) certification and am a Licensed Broker, a Seniors Residential Specialist (SRES), an Accredited Home Stager (AHS), and an e-Pro. I expect to complete my Council of Residential Specialists (CRS) credential this year as well. I am also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Before becoming a Realtor, I spent 30 years in Corporate America managing large programs and software systems for Fortune 100 corporations, and I negotiated multi-Billion dollar contracts with the Federal Government.
Although we try to stay knowledgable about the market in the entire South Bay so that we can help all our clients, I admit we have some favorite areas. I especially focus on Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Hollyglen, South Redondo Beach, and the Hollywood Riviera and Southwood areas of Torrance, and the entire Palos Verdes Peninsula. I figure I might as well specialize in the areas I like best! The reasons I like these areas are varied: 1) I live in Manhattan Beach and have for nearly 30 years, so the Manhattan/El Segundo and Hollyglen areas are "home" to me. 2)My office is in the South Redondo area near Riviera Village, so I spend a lot of each day in that part of town and know it well and 3) my daughters are competitive equestrians so I spend time each day "on the Hill" and I have many friends and acquaintances who live all over the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula, so it seemed a natural fit for me to focus on understanding it too.
My real area of expertise, though, that differentiates me from many other agents and Realtors is in my construction and "flipping" background and my business experience. From doing my own projects and from being married to an architect for nearly 20 years, I have a fairly strong ability to walk through a house and see what it "wants to be" as my husband would say, and help clients see past ugly linoleum and chipped paint to the bones of a home and whether the bad floor plan can be fixed or not. I also can help clients avoid problem properties, or conversely, get bargains on properties that other Realtors may be afraid of because they think that certain things are very expensive to fix when in actuality they are not that bad and I know just the contractor who can fix it! And my hubby is always available to my clients for free consultations!
I also have extensive negotiating expertise from years of negotiating multi-Billion dollar contracts with the Federal Government that I bring into play for my clients, so I have saved my Buyers lots of money and made lots for my Sellers. If you are intersted in investment property, I have extensive analyses spreadsheets that I have custom developed that can help you determine if a property is the right one for you or if now is the right time for you to sell your old one and move up.
I pride myself on "Concierge Service" for my clients. I want my clients to feel both pampered and like they are in the hands of a true expert. I am always prepared to work a deal for them, from a mobile printer to anywhere internet, efax, smartphone -- whatever it takes to make sure I or one of my team are in reach and available to help them with their needs.
