Today it was announced in the Desert Sun newspaper that Martha Stewart, in association with KB Homes, 
will be introducing plans for a new active adult community in La Quinta. The details of KB Home's first residential community for adults 55 and over will be announced at a special event held November 9th from 11:30 am to 2 pm. The active adult community project, although still going through the city of La Quinta's approval process, is scheduled to be built at Monroe Street between 60th and 61st Avenues, near Trilogy Golf Club. Trilogy is another very popular La Quinta active adult community. Once approved, KB Homes has indicated they plan to begin construction early next year.
The new development in La Quinta will be the 10th community on which KB Home and Martha Stewart have collaborated in the United States, two near Atlanta, Denver, the Greater Los Angles area, Houston, the Orlando, Fla. area, Raleigh/Durham, N.C., and in Riverside County.
It is easy to see why Martha Stewart and KB Homes would find La Quinta a great place to build their first 55 and over community! We have it all right here!

Old Town merchants and the City of La Quinta are partnering to present the town's first open-air certified farmers' market where fresh produce and goods will be offered by 16 vendors beginning Sunday, November 9th from 8 am to 12:30 pm in Old Town off of Calle Tampico. The La Quinta Farmers' Market will be held every Sunday and will offer fruits, vegetables, cut flowers, honey, eggs, cheese, bread, herbs and nuts.
"Supporting local farming families is critical," Mayor Don Adolph said. "Residents will have a new option to buy fresher and healthier foods."
Organizers said a chef's booth also will be available, and will include cooking demonstrations, tips and recipes. Stroll the booths while listening to musical entertainment which will also be offered each week.
When a farmers market is certified, it means the California Department of Food and Agriculture has approved the offerings. The farmers who will be selling items at the La Quinta market have grown their produce within 100 miles of the Coachella Valley. Come join the fun and buy fresh from our local farmers!
