Incorporated in 1956, the city of North Palm Beach was awarded the Best Planned Community in the U.S. designation in 1957 by the National Association of Homebuilders. The village contains John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Beach State Park, which has 1.8 miles of beaches.

North Palm Beach is known as a boating community, which testifies to its rather intricate network of canals and waterways. The Village is comprised of about 13,000 year round residents and an additional 5,000 seasonal residents arriving during the winter months.

Approximately 40 to 45% of the housing stock is located on waterfront, canal front, or water access properties which lends to its reputation as a waterfront community. These waterfront residences greatly assist in maintaining property values throughout the Village.

Old Port Cove is a self-contained community on 60 acres of land with six towers and one low rise complex.

The Admiralty tower consists of two 12-story buildings, with 186 units available in the twin tower design. The towers are built on 4.2 acres and feature over 900 feet of bulk-headed waterfront. The common features include tennis court, heated pool. saunas, exercise room, hobby room, library and a clubhouse with kitchen. Many of these floor plans offer beautiful views of the marina, Lake Worth, and the Ocean.

Quay North is a high-rise, crescent shaped building that offers 187 units. Quay North is positioned on 5.9 acres with over 66 feet of bulkhead waterfront. Units range in size from 1240 square feet to over 1900 square feet of living space. Common facilities include heated pool, covered parking, men's and women's exercise rooms, saunas and a large multipurpose room with kitchen and bar. Assigned and covered parking is available and a resident manager is on site.

Quay South is a duplicate of the Quay North tower and offers 167 units. It shares the same common elements with Quay North and is positioned on over 3 acres of land with 360 feet of bulkhead waterfront. Common facilities include heated pool, covered parking, men's and women's exercise rooms and saunas, and a large gathering room with a kitchen and bar. All have a wet bar and covered parking with individual storage rooms. Dock owners are assessed separately for maintenance. Docks can only be assigned to owners or leased to tenants of Harbor Village. Common facilities include a heated pool and whirlpool.

Lake Point Tower is a 22-story tower and has eight separate and unique two and three bedroom floor plans on each floor. With expansive balconies that offer panoramic views of Lake Worth and the ocean, this is one of the most luxurious buildings in Palm Beach County. Additionally, there are 12 distinctive Lanai residences that have sunken living rooms, and a fireplace in both the living room and master bedroom for the perfect touch. The tower is situated on 4.3 acres at the tip of the peninsula with over 1100 feet of bulkhead waterfront.
