Well its my favourite time of year again!

We've got our Christmas tree up and it looks fabulous. We decided with the little ones that it would be a great tradition to start going to local area Christmas Tree farms to cut down our tree ourselves.

I've always been a traditionalist and have never gone for those plastic artificial trees. I even felt guilty as it used to be common perception that a real Christmas tree was bad for the environment and a waste of resources.

Turns out that Greenpeace now supports the Christmas Tree Farm industry instead of fake. All the PVC and lead that are contained in many of these artificial trees will be in landfills for generations!

We went to Thomas' Christmas Tree farm in North Gower. It was a fantastic family experience for $50.00 we got a tractor ride out to the field, use of their swede saws, our tree was put on a vibrator to clean it and baled.

We are pretty happy with the result! Note the lack of decorations at the bottom of the tree. Dexter keeps pulling them off!

Country Place/Pineglen is located between Merivale and Prince of Wales. And South of Hunt Club. The main road through Country Place is Amberwood.

Carlingwood is a gracious and quiet neighbourhood adjacent to the Ottawa River Parkway and NCC cycling paths. Close at hand are the Carlingwood and Lincoln Fields Shopping centres, for ease of access to all kinds of shops and services. Both a Metro and a Fairlawn independent grocer are both close at hand. Restaurants, churches and schools are all nestled within this affordable, family oriented neighbourhood.

The commute to downtown is easy with access via to the 417 just minutes away, or via Carling as an alternative route. OC TRanspo routes are extensive via Carling Station a short walk away, however routes 116, 166, 169, 59 and O-Train Carling Station are nearby.*

There are many new custom homes available for sale in Greely, Ontario.

Greely is a small, mature town located about 10 minutes south of the Ottawa International Airport. Formerly of the Osgoode Township, its estimated population is just over 4,200, although this community is well established and is home to many amenities.

In 1976, under permission of the Osgoode Township Council, Greely opened a branch of the Ottawa Public Library, which was located in the local fire department meeting room.

In 1990, the Osgoode Township Library Board received a grant to build a new branch, however it never came to fruition with the 2001 amalgamation and online catalogue services establish in time. There are several churches in the area, providing recreational and meeting space in addition to church services. They are the All Saints Anglican Church, the Parkway Road Pentecostal Church, and the Our Lady of the Visitation church.

There are three schools servicing Greely and area residents, they are: Castor Valley Elementary School, Greely Elementary School, and St. Mary’s Catholic School.

There are multiple Golf courses in the area, with the Emerald Links Golf Club being the closest, there is plenty of wide open space and developed recreational facilities for all residents to enjoy.
