Cafe' Marmalade
A Great Community Gem in the MarmaladeWard District in Salt Lake City, Cafe' Marmalade. Few communities today have the charm and community feel of yester-years. The Marmalade Hill Historic District , west of the State Capital, is charming with original small
Victorian homes, streets named after fruit trees, corner markets, white picket fences, neighborhood cafes' and a real sense of community. It is an eclectic grouping of unique properties as interesting as the people that live there. A land mark and center of the community is the Marmalade Ward, once a Mormon Chapel, on the Historical register, with Onion top steeples influenced by the original residence, many from Russia. The Marmalade Ward today houses the Salt Lake Acting company which I will feature in a future blog.
Another great center of the community is Cafe Marmalade, a gathering place for the neighborhood. Kim
Boekholder and DebbieAldrich 801-870-0606 have been working in this little niche' of Salt Lake City and have made it a point to get to know the community, becoming a source of information as to what is going on in the Marmalade district. We make a regular stop at Cafe Marmalade ordering their famous Latte called the White Rhino, I don't know what's in it but it's sooooo good!! We have come to know the proprietor Kim Paulus, always friendly, and a fan to her clients. There isn't a time that we have stopped by that it isn't filled with people enjoying the many wonderful things on her menu, lively with conversation, lingering in a great atmosphere.
We are so happy to have become a part of this great community and a source of information about businesses , events, and the Real Estate Market in the Marmalade
District. Come join the fun and visit Cafe Marmalade in Salt Lake City, UT : Live Music, you'll come back for more!!

The Inks not even Dry!!
The ink isn't even dry on one of my lease properties and we already have it leased, sweet. Only last night was I getting the contract sign ad I had an Attorney wanting to see the office space and he told me today he wants it. Now that's a good Day!! It is one of the offices at 5005 S. 900 E. Combridge Court in Holladay.
I have another office space available in this great Office building. From the looks of it it won't last long at $10.00 sqft triple net for 1818 sqft. If you know someone that might like this great space let us know by calling DebbieAldrich 801-870-0606 or email us at info@PropertiesofUtah.com .

Veteran's Day...A Tribute to my Father, My Hero!!
MY father, Col. David F. Schafer, was an Officer in the United States Air Force. My father was born and raised in Maryland and attended Charlotte Hall Military Academy - oldest military academy established in 1774, for boys , 'Charlotte
Hall' is in southern Maryland. As a boy, my father had his eyes set on serving in the military. My father was the epitome of an
Officer and a Gentleman. He was devoted to his wife and family, he was a dedicated patriot, serving in 2 wars and many missions. I never heard my father say a bad thing about anyone, he believed the best in people, he was a Godly man.
Raised in the Military I had an education you couldn't get any where else. We lived overseas most of my formative years. When my father was home we spent our time traveling to many sights throughout Europe and the Middle East at that time. We lived in France, Turkey and Germany before he was sent to Vietnam. We visited most of the sights of WWII, Berlin, Check Point Charlie, Normandy Beach, Omaha Beach, several concentration camps, Museums, Cathedrals, the Eagles Nest ( Hitlers Hide out), Rome and many more to many to mention. When we lived in Turkey my father took to as many Biblical sights as well.
My father commanded many service men, I remember he made a point to reach out to the lowest or youngest service man in his command. Often after church on sundays we would take a drive and we would stop by to see some of those men and their
families. As a little girl we would always have several single Junior Officers over during the Holidays.
My Father served his country with love and pride and instilled that same pride in my brothers and myself. My oldest brother has worked for the State department for 20 + years, I went overseas in my 20's to live and work in Saudi Arabia, My younger brother has a great job which affords him the ability to take his family on mission trips every year.
None of us would have done the many things we have had the priviledge to do or have a love and devotion for our God had we not had an amazing
father like ours. My father died in 1993, way to young and to soon for us. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't miss him or know the privileged we had having such a great father.
He served in the Korean war, Vietnam war, may air lifts to India and the Congo, and he served as a civilian in Desert Storm. He was a Hero to our Nation and to our family and is now buried in Arlington National cemetery with full honors.
God Bless America and God Bless our Veterans!!
Another Speechless Sunday.....

Fall this year has lasted longer than usual, I think we have had what we call an Indian summer. The weather has been amazing, chilly nights but warm sunny beautiful days, not even a sweater.
I could take a few more of these so I can keep door knocking and get out with the folk. The colors don't seem to be fading either.
