Quincy, MA's annual Memorial Day Parade will take place on Monday, May 31, 2010. The parade will start at 10:30 A.M., beginning at the Quincy Credit Union, 100 Quincy Avenue.
The route then proceeds down Hancock Street to Coddington Street, then to Mount Wollaston Cemetery, and will finish at the World War II podium.
In the event of inclement weather, the parade with be held in the gym at Broad Meadows Middle School on Calvin Road.
The 7th annual Taste of Hingham will be held this Saturday, May 22 on Main Street in Hingham Square. The event features food from many Hingham restaurants, live music, horse-drawn hayrides, children's activities and showcases from local boutiques and artist galleries.

Tickets cost $15 ($12 in advance) for individuals and $30 ($25 in advance) for a family. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Noble's Camera, La Petite Maison or Puopolo Candies, all in downtown Hingham. The Hingham Downtown Association is sponsoring the event along with Hingham Congregational Church and Eat Well, Inc. For more information, visit www.discoverhingham.com.
The Hingham harbormaster has scheduled a free basic boating safety certificate course from 7-10 p.m. May 25 and 27 and June 1 and 3 at Hingham High School, Room 124, 17 Union St., Hingham. Participants must attend all four sessions to complete the certificate.
The federally approved class is open to people 12 years and over, regardless of their boating experience. Those who finish the class will receive a basic boating safety certificate and be able to legally drive a boat in all states that require completion of a basic boating safety course. Young people ages 12-16 who complete the course can operate a boat without adult supervision.

The Friends of the Plymouth Pound are planning their annual carnival Memorial Day weekend at the Armstrong Skating Arena. The carnival will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. May 27 and 28, from 1 to 10 p.m. May 29 and from 1 to 5 p.m. May 30. For more information, call 508-224-6651.
On the carnival's opening day, attendees will be able to buy special wrist bands good for all of the midway rides. Come out and enjoy the weekend in Plymouth!
Hello friends. I am running in the "Run to Home Base" fundraising race. The Run to Home Base program honors heroic veterans and helps raise much needed funds for the new Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program.
Funds raised for the Home Base Program will provide care and community outreach to the many veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with combat stress disorders and traumatic brain injuries.
