Cape Neddick is technically part of York but it is in between York and Ogunquit. It is a foodee's delight. Another spot favored by the locals, and a few favored tourists in the know, is Lucia's Kitchen. Located at 1151 Route One, on the York/Ogunquit corridor.
Lucia was born and raised in Mexico but has been an award winning ME/NH seacoast chef for many years. Her Mexican fare has a unique European/Asian/Mid East flavor influence. The food is very fresh with a wide variety of daily dishes. She also offers vegan and gluten free dishes every day - something for everyone!
Lucia's offers take out, dine in, catering and occasional wine dinners. The decor is simple and rustic, with wooden tables and bar.
Browse the menu. It will make you hungry. I have served Lucia's food at my broker opens. I always have to order extra because it brings the crowds. Mexican albondigas, Smoked ham, rosemary cream and peach relish biscuit - mmm.
The hours vary with the season so check the website. But most importantly, stop in and check out Lucia's Kitchen. You will be glad you did.

Well. the list could be lengthy here. But we will start with the best.
Frankie & Johnny's Restaurant on Route One in Cape Neddick is favored by locals and those who aspire to be.
The Menu started as vegan many years ago. Chef johnny and his wife Thea have not forgotten their roots and continue to offer great vegan dishes. But the menu has expanded and meat and fish favorites, as well as truly wonderful pastas, continue to top the fare. Johnny offers wonderful food and Thea offers entertaining conversation.
The ambiance and decor is casual. Ok, a bit funky even. The food is first class. And that is what we locals come for. Seriously, the best food in York. Shhhhh. Don't tell the tourists.
Portions are generous and the entrees include a soup or salad. You cannot go wrong with either the house or caesar salad. The varying soups are all delicious. We honestly have never been served a dish that we did not like in all our years of dining here. The favorites that top our list: From the appetizers, the lobster truffle purses and mussels. From the main dishes: the Pork Delmonico is a wondrous thing as is the Chicken Picatta.
It is one of the few BYOB rstaurants in York which adds to the value.
Open Wednesday through Sunday. Do call for reservations at 207-363-1909. Oh, if your new, tell them Peggy Mitchell sent you.

The general feeling among York, Maine real estate agents during the month of November was that this was a very slow month. Results prove them right.
There were 8 sales of single family homes in York, Maine closed during November 2008. Median prices tend to be more representative since a single high end home can distort the average in such a small sample. Median sales price November 2008 was $384,000, median days on market was 101 days, and median sales price was 96% of list price.
November 2008 sales of 8 single family homes is just over half of the total November 2007 sales, which was 15 single family homes. Median sales November 2007 price was $409,000, median days on market was 81 days, and median sales price was 95% of list price.
What's the forecast? Most agents believe that December 2008 sales will be light relative to the year before also. However, the recent steep drop in mortgage interest rates, from 6.5% on 30 year fixed just a few weeks ago to 5.5% today, coupled with some true bargain pricing, may lure buyers back into the Seacoast real estate waters. York, Maine, with its beautiful beaches, friendly folks, and quaint small town feeling, remains a sought after Seacoast location.
We predict an early Spring and we're not talking weather.
