See the tiny little clumps of yellow flowers.
My priest is new to the coast and working hard to become an expert on all the plants, shells and wildlife found here on the island of Bogue Banks. He's asked what the name is of these little flowers.
Anybody?
IS IT WRONG TO POST A NOT SO WORDLESS WEDNESDAY POST JUST TO GET POINTS?
This is the Episcopal Flag flying over Trinity Center, the Episcopal retreat center in Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina. I took this picture Sunday afternoon while on a walk on the beach with my three grandsons. My intention is to write a blog about the center but for now it is simply A not so Wordless Wednesday post. Enjoy!
PS: Did I mention that I am approaching the 100,000 point mark and suddenly points are very important to me?
About every other week, I collect my three grandsons for a sleep-over. They love adventures, so I'm always looking for new places to visit that will be fun for them.
This week-end we visited the Outer Banks Wildlife Shelter (OWLS) in Newport, North Carolina. The facility has been around for almost twenty years and serves as a "hospital" for injured or orphaned wild animals in our area. The program is run by volunteers and is an amazing place for little boys to discover.
The boys were very excited to see so many "gooses". Quite tame.
OWLS is located at 100 Wildlife Way in Newport, just a short drive from Morehead City on Highway 24. Check it out. You can call to arrange a tour at (252) 240-1200.
The nature trail took us about 15 minutes to explore.
The boys enjoyed watching the ducks from the bridge.
Oh, and the next time you're feeling generous, they happily receive donations.
OK, I'm sure it's nothing. Or I should say "they're nothing". But let this be a warning to all of us.
Thursday I went to the dermatologist to have her look at a suspicious mole. She quickly dismissed it and said, "oh, that's just a (fill in the blank with some unpronouncable medical term.) Whew! I'm reaching for my bra...
"mmm...I don't like the looks of this one over here." What "one over here?" I'm thinking as she shined some fancy light on the area.
In any case, an hour later I'm on my way with three bandages where once there were "precancerous" moles. One on my face, one on my knee and one on my back.
I'm trying not to worry but I have 10 days to wait to see what the biopsy says.
Right here in Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina, in the middle of this little island of Bogue Banks, you can find one of the most beautiful golf courses anywhere. THE COUNTRY CLUB OF THE CRYSTAL COAST.
It is a member owned club and in addition to the golf course, there is a wonderful club house with pro shop, meeting rooms and dining facility as well as a member lounge. There are tennis courts and a brand new swimming pool.
The Country Club of the Crystal Coast is a bargain in anybody's book. Check out the link from my web-site at www.pineknollshoresrealty.com for rates and more information.
This is a picture of our signature hole, #15. It's an easy par three over the water.

My handicap is 27 but I'm working on it. Let's play! Give me a call
