Maybe I shouldn't tell you but there's a little known secret just off the coast of North Carolina. It's a little island called Bogue Banks. Folks call it the Crystal Coast. I call it PARADISE.
I took this picture just days ago from the walkway near my house to the beach. I love the sea grass. Please don't touch. From my house this is about a five minute power walk away.
If I walk west, the sound is about a five minute power walk away. How blessed I am to be able to visit both ocean and sound every morning on my walk.
You can rent a house or condo or hotel room and come for a visit anytime. But you can buy your own place and come often or forever. Call me. I can make it happen.

Come on, you walk through the house and there are 5 rooms with beds and dressers. Nice comfortable bedrooms, right? NOT! Go back and check. Do each of these rooms have closets? If not, they are not technically (legally) bedrooms. OK, so they all have closets? Well, now go to the health department and ask for a copy of the septic permit. It says 3 bedrooms? Well, now you know. It's a three bedroom house with two bonus rooms that are currently being used for sleeping quarters.
Don't advertise that house as a 5 bedroom house!
I know, I know, you'll miss some prospects but you can't do it. Be a professional. Be ethical. DON'T push the envelope. Get it right.

This morning I was thinking about all the problems I have to deal with today.
Four of my listings are expiring. Will the sellers relist with me?
One of my pendings has a bad inspection. I have to break the bad news to the sellers.
One of my best friends is in crisis. How can I help?
A good REALTOR friend just got devastating news regarding the health of a family member. Is there anything I can do to comfort her?
One of my lockboxes wouldn't open for a buyer's agent yesterday. I have to go there and call technical support and deal with that.
I left lights on at a vacant listing. I better go turn them off.
STOP! What am I doing here? This is not like me. Let's focus on the good stuff.

I divided a pack of flower seeds equally among my three grandsons. They each planted the same seeds in the same soil. We left them in a sunny spot where the sprinkler would water them for us. Look at the difference. Tyler used the terra cotta pot. I guess flower seeds like terra cotta. The pot in the middle is Tanner's. Wonder why his are the sparsest? Maybe he pushed the seeds down too far. Jackson's pot is the one the right. Even though these seeds have had equal attention, equal water and sun, they have flourished at different rates
Fifteen years ago when I was a new rookie REALTOR® I was taught to "farm". I've been very successful in my endeavors but sometimes I forget to "tend" my farm and guess what? It begins to shrivel up. I truly believe that our business is like farming. We choose the sunny spot where we want to "plant" our seeds and then we take care of it and watch it grow.
