Boynton Beach Real Estate

C'mon down. Enjoy leisure, recreation, golf, beach, ocean, business, restaurants, activities. Great climate. PARADISE! The Downtown area has recently started renovations and many have been completed.

Boynton Beach has the good fortune of being the city on the Atlantic coast that is closest to the bountiful Gulf Stream: A fisherman's paradise! One can be deep-sea fishing just a short boat ride from the Boynton Inlet. Five miles of coral reef offshore with 60-foot visibility await the deep-sea diving enthusiast.

The new downtown area will offer a yachting marina, outdoor performance square and exhibit of kinetic art sculptures. Promenade Park, a natural preserve, will provide scenic walking and jogging trails bordering the ICW and Pedestrian Promenade, and interconnecting walkway, and will link the city's 40-acre Mangrove Nature Walk and RiverWalk with the marina and performance square. Boynton Beach's Oceanfront Park was rated best overall beach in Palm Beach County in 2001. Boynton's Intracoastal 10-acre Park is one of the newest in Palm Beach County. Gracing the entrance to the park is a Veteran’s Memorial with a grassed plaza and sitting wall overlooking a sparkling lake with a lighted floating fountain. Catch sight of many facets of nature in and around the park including at the southeast corner where existing mangrove and coastal planting areas have been preserved.

Boynton Beach is located just a few miles from the bountiful Atlantic Gulf Stream and is serviced by two local marinas. With Lake Osborne to the north, Lake Ida to the south and countless canals criss-crossing in between, Boynton Beach is a freshwater angler's paradise! Find some shade to sit under, cast out the worm and it won't be long before you'll see that plastic float slip under the water!

Water is not your thing? Golf courses abound, ranging from private to semi-private to public. There are many parks with oceanfront and intracoastal beaches that feature swimming, picnic areas, barbeques, water skiing, jetty, marina with boat slips, children's play areas, ball fields, jogging trails, racquetball, tennis, volleyball, bocce, and horseshoes. The Boynton Beach Municipal Park features ocean swimming, BBQ and picnic areas, snack bar and rest rooms. A Boardwalk winds through natural mangrove preserve and features an observation deck. Many new, large gated communities are sprouting up on the landscape. The concerns of the city of Boynton Beach span all ages.

There is presently a brand-new $37.8 million high school under construction that will accommodate 2,500 students. To compare schools side-by-side go to http://PalmBeachCountyFreeSchoolReports.blogspot.com.

Marilyn recently sold a 3-bedroom lakefront home in Coral Lakes, gated area, huge clubhouse, resort pool, indoor olympic size pool, cafe. Happy buyers! Marilyn can show you any home on the MLS in Boynton Beach or anywhere in Palm Beach or North Broward Counties. Great lifestyle in warm climate with activities galore, beaches, sunshine, relaxation.

Classes are held at the Boynton Beach Art Center, and the Civic Center features the Gold Coast Chorale and Community Band. Visit the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. JFK Medical Center services the community, and is growing in leaps and bounds. All varieties of foods are found in local restaurants for your dining pleasure. The Montreal Expos and The Atlanta Braves can be seen playing baseball at their Spring Training Camps in the area. You can watch The Miami Heat and The West Palm Beach Beachdogs play basketball, or The Florida Panthers and the West Palm Beach Barracudas play hockey.

OCEAN RIDGE, FLORIDA HOMES FOR SALE

LOW-KEY LUXURY ENVIRONMENT FOR RETIREES, PROFESSIONALS AND TEENAGERS. MANY LUXURY WATERFRONT PROPERTIES, some with boat docks. Near restaurants, shopping, cultural events, highways to airports. Read here about events & plans for the area that can affect your home, finances, neighborhood & social life.

A low-key, low density and low profile town, Ocean Ridge is just north of Gulf Stream along A1A, located on a barrier island in Palm Beach County. Ocean Ridge is prized for its quiet solitude, relaxed ambiance, and beautifully unspoiled landscape. This charming city lies between white-sand beaches on the Atlantic Ocean and the tranquil waters of the Intracoastal.

Centrally located between Palm Beach and Boca Raton, Ocean Ridge is near the region's finest world-class shops, restaurants, and sporting clubs. Here you will find a three-mile long stretch of mansions, luxury condominium complexes and older homes, with fabulous views both of the ocean and sunsets across the intercoastal waterway. It has become a wealthy community of mansions, luxury condominium complexes and older homes. Ocean Ridge offers elegant Spanish-style mansions at Pelican Beach, Tropical Shores and Ocean Harbor Estates, priced from $400,000 to $9 million. Stroll or bike ride along spectacular Old Ocean Boulevard, reminiscent of a quiet native Florida seashore path, drive through residential-lined streets, or simply pass through town on a scenic drive of A1A.

The Town's mission is to create and maintain a beautifully landscaped, diverse seaside community built around family and civic pride, state of the art public services and infrastructure that enhances the natural scenic beauty. With one of the lowest tax millage rates in Palm Beach County, Ocean Ridge provides services in a friendly, courteous and responsive manner. Known as a wonderful place to live and raise a family, Ocean Ridge has over 2600 residents who enjoy the solitude and seclusion of living in an area surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Florida Intracoastal Waterway. Nonetheless, those who call Ocean Ridge home can still enjoy the social life of the “big city” only a few miles away.

The first residents were the Dexter Hubel family from Michigan in 1877. A few years later more settlers arrived. In 1984, Masjor Narthan S. Boynton from Port Huron, Michigan, toured the area and built the Boynton Beach Hotel, a showplace on the South end of Ocean Avenue, with 45 rooms and 6 cottages. In 1911, the first bridge was cuilt at Ocean Avenue, made of wood, which swung open manually for boats to go through. Boynton was incorporated as a town in 1920, and Ocean Ridge was founded by 13 families in 1931 after the area seceded from neighboring Boynton Beach. Residents include retirees, teenagers and a growing population of young affluent professionals with most residents sharing a strong desire to protect the environment. Restoration of the eroding beach, protection of sea turtles, and continued beautification are major issues. The municipality is gradually modernizing operations. The city's computer system is being overhauled, and officials are planning the expansion of city hall. Residents are well looked after by police officers who make a point of knowing everyone. Even pets have their own files at the police station.
