GREENLIFE GROCERY in Chattanooga, Tn. an Organic Lover's Paradise

Outside of Greenlife Grocery in Chattanooga Tn.

Chattanooga has it's own organic paradise, Greenlife Grocery. Located conveniently at the Manufacturers Road exit of Hwy. 27 , it is a feast for the health oriented. I had occassion to go there today. This is only my second trip to their brand new store at this location. Originally it was located on Barton AVe. (Hixson Pike) in Red Bank. They are currently remodeling that location and have plans to reopen that store again also. I headed over to find a Christmas present for my business partner; organic, unpoped corn kernels. I called ahead and they assured me that they had them.

When I first walked into the store I noticed a vast array of organic wines and beers in a special section that I had never noticed before. This is a great feature for me because I am slowly changing to all organic. It seemed as if there was a broad selection.

Immediately upon entering I spotted the deli. This deli is notorious for a huge variety of cheeses from all over the world as well as goat cheeses. Also featured are organic cold cuts of every sort both vegetarian and meat. They have a special feature called a cheeseboard and you can order for 1 or 2 people. It includes 6 selections of cheeses, fresh roll or bread, soup and a drink along with 3 side orders. This seemed like a good and healthy value. Their side dishes are not to be found elsewhere; crucnchy cole slaw with artichoke in it, special macoroni and cheese (1 square weighs over a pound) and a huge variety of non traditional, homemade concoctions.

DELI WITH WINE ROOM TO RIGHT

As I started into the grocery section I noticed a wonderful little gift section with every kind of gadget known to man from tea steepers, filters to coffee mugs and garlic presses.

Then I hit the produce section full of wonderful, large and diverse selections of fruits and veggies.

Then on to the meat section to buy local chopped meat and dog bones. They have locally produced beef as well as veggies, fruit, and eggs. It also is the only place where I can still get good meaty bones for my dogs.

I then went to accomplish my original task in the grocery department and found 4 different selections of organic, unpopped popcorn including a black corn and a red corn. Pleased with my selections I headed to the bulk food section where I found yet another type of yellow corn. I weighed a healthy portion out and proceeded to the cafe area.

The cafe is a wonderful place. The bakery is near by and you can select fresh bread for sandwichs or just enjoy a hearty cup of soup with a roll. Coffee in every flavor and type is available by the cup and then there is the prepared food section where you can buy vegetarian meatloaf, a variety of chicken breast dishes, lasagne and fish selections as well as side orders. There is ample seating to enjoy your meal.

The complex where the store is located includes a Rock Creek Outfitters as well as several unique boutique type shops. If you are in the area and you enjoy buying organic and want a huge selection of products you owe it to yourself to stop in at the Greenlife Grocery!

Santa Pays a Visit to Laura Watts on AR!!! Merry Christmas Laura

Well, in keeping with my promise, here is my Christmas recognition of another Active Rain memeber that is significant to me, Laura Watts from North Carolina. http://activerain.com/blogs/laurinburgrealtor

Laura is a very experienced real estate professional and she has deep roots in her community. Her caring and sensitivity is eveident in every one of her posts. She also has a terrific sense of humor that is simple, basic and yet insightful.

I always enjoy reading Laura's blogs. Her style is straightforward and honest. She writes usually about interesting phenomenon or local events of interest. Sometimes she tells of her past and on two occassions has written about her grief. Still, Laura always seems to remain optimistic and "sunny". It always perks me up to go and read what my new friend has to say and I am really glad that Laura is here. Merry Christmas Laura!

Merry Christmas Chris Fisher -- My Go to Gal with a Heart a Mile Wide!!!

Chris, Chris, Chris. http://activerain.com/blogs/chrisfisher What an absolute gem of a friend and Active Rain memeber. The first best thing about Chris is that she has a genuine love of animals and takes care of any type and number of strays that pass her way. She also has a beautiful daughter named Rhiannon who she sets such a loving and responsible model for. Chris is a sensitive rock of the community--any community she happens to be part of.

I met Chris on AR quite a while back. She is one of the ones that I connected with and that stayed loyal through all of my ups and downs. Chris IS a rock. She also happens to be an extremely talented and creative web designer. www.Lakespot.com (not finished, but, a good start) She has been enormously generous with me and intuitive about what I want on my sites. Excellent work. If you need web design work done, she's the one to call.

More than anything, I look forward to just hearing from Chris, reading her posts and knowing that I can count her among my friends. Chris is so sensitive and giving. She has voluntarily "fixed" my internet mistakes without loooking for anything in return and everytime I hear from her she is helping out with someone or some other living thing. Chris is a doll.

You are missing out on so much if you don't take the time to get to know her! Merry Christmas Chris and may we all have a great New Year together!

Merry Christmas to Jim Albano -- My Heart Dog!!! (Inside Reference)

Hi all. Merry Christmas to Jim, of whom I am a huge fan. http://activerain.com/blogs/realtorjim Jim is just the kind of guy that everyone should know. He is solid, stable, consistent as well as sensitive and caring. I have watched Jim grow here in leaps and bounds over the course of one short year. He is undoubtedly North Jersey's real estate expert, but, he has also been my good friend and loyal supporter here on the Rain.

Jim always posts a thoughtful comment or two on my blog and offers quite support touched with reason and sanity when I have hit low points or felt passionately about something. Jim has built a very rock solid foundation for his business. This year he has teamed up with partner and now he is a force to be reckoned with in the North Jersey real estate market.

Because I am a transplanted Jeseyite I have an affinity for Jim on a more personal level. He works in an area where a lot of my relatives have been long established fixtures and where I have my roots. It is enjoyable to trade notes with Jim on locations, people and happenings in the area and he always seems to be in the know.

Merry Christmas Jim to you and yours. You can always have my endorsement and you have made my time here on AR infinitely more enjoyable!
