As we welcome in 2009, I wanted to provide a quick update on the market in Marin County California for mid-century modern Eichler homes this past year.

In 2008, there were a total of 43 single-family Eichler homes sold in Marin County and San Francisco. Two Eichler homes were sold in the Diamond Heights neighborhood of San Francisco while 41 Eichler homes were sold in the Marin town of San Rafael. There were no single-family Eichler homes listed or sold in either San Anselmo or Mill Valley in 2008.

As indicated in the table below, the majority of Eichler homes sold in 2008 were in the San Rafael neighborhood of Terra Linda, followed by Upper Lucas Valley and Lower Lucas valley / Marinwood. The least expensive Eichler sold in Marin was $575,000 (located in Terra Linda North); the most expensive Eichler home sold in Marin was located in Upper Lucas Valley and sold for $1,420,000.
