OXFORD MS REAL ESTATE

Talk about being on the National Spot Light! Ole Miss taking over the #4 spot as they cruise over SE Louisiana on a sloppy Vaught Hemmingway field. Oxford was buzzing both in the Grove and the Real Estate game. With so many more happy faces in Oxford over home game weekends the phones are ringing off of the hook. The biggest problem is balancing the Grove and showing the curious purchasers the interior of a game day condo!

If there is any information that I can send you about the Oxford MS Real Estate market please leave me your phone number or drop me a line.

So all of the numbers are in, analyzed, and documented….Oxford must have all ready hit the bottom because the numbers don’t lie and our office, Re/Max Legacy, is up approximately 20% from this time last year. It is time to stop sitting on the side lines and start thinking about making a move or it may be too late to get the best deal possible. With interest rates at historic lows, unparralleled tax credit opportunities, and the market heating up for the selling season many of the smart buyers are jumping back in the market before it’s too late.

It still seems to be a buyers market with an abundance of property on the market and motivated sellers, however with each day that passes so does another good deal or two. For every month over the past year or so I have seen the leverage sit on the side of the buyer, but as of recently I can start to feel that leverage sway back closer to middle ground.

With all of this being said, there is still time to take advantage of a good buying market and with any decision of this stature you need to make sure to consult with a real estate professional that you feel comfortable with to help guide you through the entire home buying process and fill you in on any of the great deals that are still out there!

Oxford Mississippi Heating UPPPP!!!

Wow! The Oxford Mississippi real estate market is definitely heating back up. We (Brokers & Property Owners) can take a deep breathe of relief as the Spring rolls upon us and contracts start procuring.

Disregard what the national news headlines read and understand that there is no such thing as a ‘National Market.' All real estate markets are local, and thank The Lord for Ole Miss and the rapid growth of the Oxford, MS area. I feel that a good way to judge the growth (health) of Oxford is to stay in tune with what the University of Mississippi's game plan is.

The University is building the largest dorm they have ever built, that will incorporate student and professor living all in the same building, the Ole Miss Rebels basketball team is building a state of the art practice facility to go along with the all ready unbelievable football practice facility, the University has also just completed the major additions to the Alumni hotel just off of the coveted Grove, not to mention the award winning Law School that is projected to be completed in the next year or so.

With all of the growth of the University, it is hard to image that the University does not have major expansion and admission expansion plans.

Re/Max Legacy, my new home, has closed nearly 20% up compared to January 2008. With the phones starting to ring and internet traffic steadily picking up, it is going to be hard not to believe that the Spring of 2009 will be much better than that of 2008.

For all of you interested or (thinking about getting interested) buyers out there, please go to www.OleMissRealEstate.com to view free pictures and mortgage calculations on all properties in the Oxford MS MLS database.

Ole Miss vs Louisiana Monroe

Oxford Mississippi-

Talk about football weather, Autumn is officially in full swing. 41 degrees and the Ole Miss Rebs totally dominated La Monroe. The Grove was a bit disappointing, muddy, and chilly, but the hard core Rebels fans toughed it out and are still partying in the grove.

Jevan Sneadthrew three touchdowns and added two rushing scores on Saturday as Mississippi became bowl eligible for the first time since 2003 with a 59-0 win over Louisiana-Monroe.
