Named for the native name of Lake St. Clair, the Ganatchio Trail is an 8 km trail extending from the City of Windsor to the Town of Techumseh. It winds along Riverside Drive and provides both an asphalt pathway and landscaped green areas for walking, jogging, biking, and rollerblading. The attached Clairview Bikeway and Rotary Ganatchio Extension provide quiet landscaped bike paths running through residential streets and a 200-acre naturalized wildflower park, respectively.
The annual Shrine Circus is one of the largest fundraising events sponsored by the Shriners. The Circus provides a fun-filled family event with proceeds going to a good cause. This year, the Windsor Arena will be hosting the Shrine Circus on Tuesday, July 8 at 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $7.50 to $15.00. Ford City was home to the original Canadian Ford Motor Plant and has a vibrant history. Local Windsor artists have depicted this history in the murals at the Ford City Discovery Centre. Located in Ford City's Greater Drouillard Area, the Discovery Centre has 36 murals displaying important and interesting historical events and people. The Discovery Centre also holds an enrichment program for children ages 8 to 13 and has a Heritage Gallery with historical and cultural exhibits on display. For more information, call (519) 254-4055.
