I was driving down Route 2A in Preston, CT this past Sunday and in the cove was a homemade sign, floating in the water that read, "THANK YOU IRAQ - AFGHAN VETERANS."
It stopped me in my tracks! I had to pull my car over and take a picture of this!
Although these are great things, this message...
*Is not a fancy granite war hero statue...
*Or a beautiful fountain with etched names of war heroes.
It is a plain, simple message for the people who have fought for us! Someone took the time to express what it was s/he wanted to say and made this homemade sign. Fancy or not... IT DID THE TRICK!

In the mid 1980's... I began my interest in real estate . This was when my husband, (we were still courting then), bought his 1st house in Norwich, CT. I observed the process and thought that I'd like to be part of it someday.
Through the years, we have bought, remodeled and sold properties in the eastern CT area- for investment reasons. Observing the art of negotioation facinated me and again at each transaction I thought that I really would like to be part of that process sometime in my future.
My husband and I were the general contractors when building our home here in CT.
I have been told by many that I pay close attention to detail, and while building our home, this skill really helped out. From designing the floor plan and outside facade, to coordinating the subcontractors, along with doing a lot of the work ourselves... Then designing the kitchen... Down to choosing the light fixtures and wood trim - I've been there and would do it again in a minute.
When my children were born, I put my career in Early Childhood Education on halt so I could stay home and raise them. They have been in school full-time for quite some time now. Since then and I have had the opportunity to be part of this side of the real estate process.
I am familiar with it as a buyer, a seller, a remodeler, a builder and as a Realtor®. With that knowledge, I understand what it is like to be on just about all sides of a real estate transaction.
