Abraham Lincoln Birthplace

Listed as the National Historic Site of Abraham Lincoln's birth, this building pictured houses a log cabin similar to that where Abe was born to Mary Todd Lincoln in 1809. The site, Sinking Springs Farm is just 10 miles from Knob Creek Farm, where Lincoln spent most of his childhood years. This beautiful place is well worth putting on your list of places to see in Kentucky. There is a gift shop and visitors center where you can learn more about the life of Abraham Lincoln and his family.

Fireworks at Thunder Over Louisville

You should have felt the ground rumble while watching this magnificant display! We were down on the water front, near one of the bridges that span the Ohio River.

Fireworks at Thunder Over Louisville

I was never a big fan of fireworks, but after seeing this spectacular show, the bar is set rather high. If you are planning a trip to Kentucky for the Derby, you are in for a real treat.
