WORK WANTED! WILL WORK FOR FOOD, SHELTER AND LOVE!
HI, MY NAME IS POOKIE (WELL, THAT IS WHAT THEY CALLED ME AT THE SHELTER) MY FOSTER FAMILY PICKED ME UP FROM THE SHELTER AFTER HURRICANE IKE. THE SHELTER HAD NO WATER OR ELECTRICITY AND THEY NEEDED TO MAKE ROOM FOR THE OTHER 123 DOGS THAT WERE MISPLACED BY THE STORM.
MY FOSTER FAMILY THINKS I SHOULD BE NAMED "SCRAPPY" AFTER THE PUPPY FROM SCOOBY DOO AS MY PERSONALITY REMINDS THEM OF THAT DOG.
I'M HAVING A GREAT TIME WHILE WAITING FOR MY FOREVER HOME, BUT MY FOSTER FAMILY ALREADY HAS A DOG NAMED JAKE. JAKE IS MY NEW BEST FRIEND. I WOULD LOVE TO STAY WITH MY FOSTER FAMILY BUT THEN THEY WOULDN'T HAVE ROOM FOR THE NEXT FOSTER DOG. JAKE TOLD ME I WAS THE THIRD DOG THIS YEAR TO BE FOSTERED.
OH, MY FOSTER FAMILY TOLD ME TO TELL YOU ABOUT ME. I'M A FEMALE... PART BASENJI AND SOMETHING ELSE SMALL. I AM AROUND 6-7 MONTHS OLD, AND I WILL PROBABLY MAX OUT AROUND 25 LBS. I PLAY REALLY WELL WITH OTHER DOGS. JUST ASK JAKE!! I HAVE HAD ALL MY SHOTS, I HAVE BEEN SPAYED, AND I HAVE A MICROCHIP THINGY IMPLANTED IN MY NECK SO I WILL NEVER GET LOST (FOR LONG) AGAIN.
IF YOU NEED A YARD FOR ME, MY FOSTER MOM CAN HELP....SHE'S A REALTOR!

Everyone thinks late Spring and Summer are the best time to list a home for sell. However, I have found the fall and winter to be a great time to list a home.
1. Less Competition Other sellers have taken their house off the market leaving less competition for you.
2. Winter Relocation Winter break is a popular time for companies to relocate employees.
3. Well Dressed Home Homes are often decorated for the fall and winter holidays giving your home a warm and fuzzy feeling
4. Kids Are At School Its easier to keep your house clean for showing when the kids are at school during the day.
5. Serious Buyers Only serious buyers are shopping during the school year.
6. Less Showings With only the serious buyers shopping you won't be leaving your house for "brick kickers" or window shoppers.

Everyone who lives in The Woodlands should thank George Mitchell. He is the mastermind behind this master-planned community. The Woodlands was born on the back of a napkin on evening when George Mitchell sketched his idea of an ideal community. And, ideal it is.
George, the child of a poor Greek immigrant, grew up in Galveston and studied at Texas A&M. He made the bulk of his fortune in petroleum with is company Mitchell Energy, but he has said that of all the things he has done in his life, The Woodlands is his the accomplishment that gives him the most pride.
ARTWORK OF GEORGE WITH CHILDREN
George Mitchell's love of children is evident in the design of The Woodlands. The Woodlands is literally a child's playground. The community has top-rated schools, parks in every neighborhood, duck ponds everywhere, and woods for exploring. We also have 14 community pools each with its own theme.
ARTWORK OF CYNTHIA WOODS MITCHELL READING TO CHILDREN
Together with his wife, Cynthia, George Mitchell created a very special place for a child to grow up.
TOWN GREEN PARK
Located in the heart of the business and retail area of The Woodlands is a green jewel called Town Green Park.
This park which marks the 100th park to be opened in The Woodlands has something for everyone. Most of the many festivals sponsored by The Woodlands are held here in this vast open green space adjacent to The Woodlands Waterway.
Many, many bridal, family, and commercial pictures have been taken at this park because of it beautifully landscaped grounds, stunning architectural design, and its shear beauty.
One of my favorite parts of this park is the Story Book Maze. As children go through the maze they can read "books" that reveal excerpts of famed children's fables.
Five different books for children to explore.....
....and should they find one or more interesting, the library is right next door!

Alden Bridge Park in The Woodlands
Alden Bridge Park located in The Woodlands is a wonderful place to experience nature and spend time with your family. The pond offers many opportunities to study wildlife such as ducks, loons, fish, turtles, egrets, snakes, owls, beavers, squirrels, frogs, rabbits, deer, coyote and numerous other animals. This park is an amazing demonstration of how people and animals can live in harmony. Surrounded by homes, this serene park provides vital habitat and important ecological diversity for both people and wildlife.
In addition to the natural habitat the park also provide recreational area for playing soccer, football, volleyball, tennis, and basketball. The lighted pavilion provides an area for picnics and can be reserved for parties. The play area is complete with jungle gym, slides, and swings. There are even restroom facilities provided to ensure a long day of enjoyment and comfort. Adjacent to the park is the Alden Bridge swimming pool complex which is open all summer adding yet another dimension to this complex park environment.
Although there are many, many parks in The Woodlands, Alden Bridge is one of my most favorite. It has something for everyone.
