I Still Love This Business!

Ever just have one of those days? I'm not talking about one of THOSE days. . . the ones that make you think it'd be a whole lot easier to just hang it up and bag groceries for 40 hours a week (no shame in baggin' groceries, but you know what I mean). I'm talking about one of those days where things were just clicking away!

When I'm busy, it's like a B-12 shot right in the keester. I love this business! I love the whole 'spinnin' plates' thing - making sure the details are covered, helping clients make informed and wise decisions, answering the phones and customer questions - it's pure energy to me. Sure, it's not all fun and games. Some of it is boring and monotonous. But the idea that, as an independent agent, I have a stake in my own future, in my own earning capacity - that's exciting to me.

Maybe I'm seeing this whole career through rose colored glasses, but I'm ok with that! I choose to not believe the hype. I don't live in a fantasy world, but I refuse to allow the 'fear mongers' to dictate how I view myself, my profession and my future. As far as I'm concerned, my next big deal is right around the corner. Yours may be, too. All we have to do - the ONLY thing we have to do - is keep going. Keep doin' what you're doin'. Don't quit. Adjust if you need to, but don't quit. Those who keep doing the right thing, regardless of how things appear, will eventually reap the harvest.

Busy day answering phones, filling out dull and boring update reports, helped a client sell their little house and was filling flyer boxes at 8:00 tonight (husband in tow - sometimes it's the only way we can get some time to talk). Nothing monumental... didn't close that million dollar deal (do we have those in Sumter??), but it was a good day to be a Realtor.

Just thought I'd share. Don't expect a whole lot of response, but if anyone else feels optimistic about our profession, feel free to chime in. And if you don't, but would like to - let me know!
