Maui Hawaii South Shore Condo Listings Newsletter - March 2012
I have noticed a dramatic decrease in new condo listings this past month which could be the start of lower inventory. But I see from the February statistics that sales volume is down compared to last year at this same time, so maybe it will all even out. Time will tell. Let's take a look at what is actually selling. Listed below are any sales and pending sales from the past 29 days in the Kihei Wailea and Maalaea areas.

Maui embracing electric cars - charging station locations on Maui
Hawaii is in the perfect position to benefit from solar power, and here on Maui we are ready to start charging those electric cars that everyone wants to own. With some of the highest gas prices in the nation, we are motivated to find solutions to our driving needs.
- Better Place has recently installed 7 charging stations on Maui, and 130 across the state of Hawaii. Since pricing has not been set, they are offering free power-ups through the end of the year. This should encourage more car owners to make the switch to more environmentaly friendly choices. Charging locations on Maui include: The Four Seasons Resort in Wailea; Alamo Rent-A-Car in Kahului; Sheraton Maui Resort in Kaanapali; and Kahana Gateway Retail center.
- 5A Rent-A-Space in Honokawai recently announced they are testing their Level 2 car charging station. It should be ready for the public later this month. They installed almost 2000 panels (600 KW each) which power the retail store and the charging facility, with leftover power to feed back into the Maui Electric Company grid.

Paia Maui Fourth Friday celebration in February 2012 - Mardi Gras style
FOURTH FRIDAYS: Once a month the merchants in the little beach town of Paia Maui go out of their way to make a memorable event for island residents and visitors. Shops stay open late and special events are planned, including live music and entertainment. There are so many good restaurants offering everything from pizza to formal dining, that it just makes sense to spend a whole evening in town.
In February the theme was Mardi Gras which makes for a lot of fun. Check out this short and lively video produced by the son of a shop owner. You have to admit that Paia can really get rocking when the sun goes down.
I hope you enjoyed this little video slice of life from Paia Maui Hawaii. It's a culturally diverse town on the north shore of Maui where you never know what you'll see.
