Southlake and Grapevine Texas Home Values Appreciate in Q1 2008

SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS - In a report released today from the leading online home value site Zillow for the first quarter of 2008, the US is experiencing Record-Breaking Declines (-7.7%) in year-over-year home values (YoY). While that may not be bad news for some, the Dallas metro area was one of 30 markets (out of 160) which showed home value appreciation from a year ago (1.1%).

Local Area Highlights:
City: Grapevine, TX
One year change: +3.4%

City: Southlake, TX
One year change: +3.6%

According to the Dallas Business Journal, three key reasons that have helped maintain a strong home value in the area are; (1) Zoning regulations and an ample land supply; (2) A robust job market; (3) It's physical location (central to both U.S. coasts and Mexico). Dallas has consistently outpaced the rest of the country on nearly every important economic stability indicator and is currently running counter to national housing trends.
