If you are looking for some great insight into how certain websites get ranked and others are lost on page 30, I highly recommend a book by Ben Norman called "Getting Noticed on Google".
I am constantly trying to figure out how people are getting organically ranked compared
to our website www.lakeandtown.com. So we hired an SEO to help us to get ranked. He sold us a couple of domain names that he created that were already ranked. www.birkdaleareahomes.com and www.homesforsalelakenorman.com. Each one of them had a page rank of 4 out of 10, which in Google terms is pretty good. We actually made it to the top 3 in a couple of prominent searches for real estate in our area.
However, over the year or so we seemed to lose some of our juice. I am coming to understand that in order to stay organically ranked you have got to have a site that can be manipulated on a constant basis. If you are like me I will not stop until I figure out this madness.
Backlinks, keywords, meta tags, urls... Go to Web ceo and see how much information there is to learn about not only your site but your competitions.
If anyone know of a shortcut please let me know, because my wife is giving me the evil eye everytime I get on my laptop.
Thanks
Oh by the way Happy Easter!
The construction of Langtree at the Lake, across the causeway on I-77 just north of Davidson, may get under wayas soon as this fall with funding provided by special assessment improvement district bonds, also known as SAID bonds. At a meeting last month, the Mooresville Town Board of Commissioners took the next step toward enabling Langtree principal developer Land Acquisition & Investment to begin installing water, sewer and roads by unanimously approving a resolution to proceed with the necessary steps to authorize as much as $40 million in SAID bonds for the mega-development. Langtree would be the first development in North Carolina to secureSAID bonds since the state legislature approved the funding mechanism in August of last year.
The $880 million development will consist of 300,000 square feet of corporate and professional offi ce space,650 luxury condos, a 150-room boutique hotel, a 300-room hotel and convention center, a 40-acre preserve and a number of retail shops and community amenities. Approved by the Mooresville Town Board in December 2006, Langtree at the Lake will occupy 125 acres at the emerging Exit 32, which is currently under construction, including several acres fronting Lake Norman.
Other municipalities in Mecklenburg and Iredell counties stand to reap the benefits of such large-scale job creation, too. Beyond that, however, Langtree is also anticipated to spur ripple development across north Mecklenburg and attract new businesses to the area. The water and sewer lines that Langtree will install using the SAID bonds will have the capacity serve adjacent properties that have no such utility services. Smith said that the sewer line will open up the southeast quadrant of Exit 32 to new development, extending around Lake Davidson into the Town of Davidson, that has heretofore been undeveloped because of the absence of utilities. Davidson town staff members are anticipating a direct impact from Langtree and are planning for future growth in the town that will ride the development's long coattails.

Last night was a town meeting that included the talks about the new Augustalee development in Cornelius, NC. Unfortunatley, I was not able to attend because of T-Ball practice, but as soon as I hear any more information I will be passing it along.
Augustalee plans call for widening Westmoreland Road and U.S. 21, realigning Bailey Road at Poole Place Drive and building a new segment of Northcross Drive from Jim Cooke Road to Westmoreland Road, according to published legal notices.
Developer Cornelius Bromont LLC's Augustalee will be on 104 acres on the south side of Cornelius, between I-77 and U.S. 21. The developer expects the first retail stores to open in fall 2012.
Augustalee will offer residences starting at $350,000 above retail stores; Class A office space in numerous buildings; and parks, walking trails and other amenities.
Cornelius Bromont closed on its financing before the national economic downturn, Josh Rector, the firm's senior vice president, said last year. Securing the financing allowed Cornelius Bromont to buy the property and begin designing the project's first phase, he said.
The firm plans to pay up front to widen I-77 from Exit 23 in Huntersville to Exit 28 in Cornelius. The developer plans to seek reimbursement from the government through such possible financing measures as "certificates of participation," a form of government-issued debt that doesn't require voter approval.
Robbins Park is now pre-selling!
The Preserve at Robbins Park brings to the fore an idea with deep historical roots. Namely, the concept of a preferred neighborhood bordering a capacious public park, first posed in the 19th Century by the pioneers of classic American urban design. The result is a study in elegant contrasts which combines the luxury of in-town living with a Lake Norman address. Which balances a commitment to the preservation of nature with the tranquility of the home. Which commingles the possibility of more meaningful neighborly connection with the demands of personal privacy. All in the context of an unforgettable natural setting with woodlands, public fields and natural habitats which will give the Preserve at Robbins Park lasting stature, as well as the opportunity for families at all life stages to be part of something heartfelt and permanent.
These homes are designed quite simply to complement the uniqueness of the vision. Materials and finishes will harmonize with the natural setting, while features like backyard rooms will blur the distinction between inside and outside living. Because we envision appealing to families at every stage of life, your home will be adaptable to changing needs, changing dreams. Along with balance and form, the homes reflect a healthy attitude toward efficiency, exceeding Energy Star requirements by an average of 6%. Garages offer three-car capability. Live large, while living in concert with the natural world. That's The Preserve at Robbins Park.
