Did you know that the world's largest Sassafras Tree lives in Owensboro, Kentucky? Well it does! I did do a post about a while back, but didn't have any photos of this, so I decide to do another one and include photos this time.

Yes, there is a natural wonder in Owensboro, Kentucky it's home of the world's largest Sassafras Tree.
This natural wonder is almost 300 years old and it measures over 100 feet tall with over 21 feet in circumference. It is one of the first things we came to find during our relocation and home search.
It was very interesting especially for my husband and son, as my son is an Arborist and together they have planted over 1000 trees just this year.
This natural wonder right in the heart of Owensboro, Ky is located on Fredericka Street which is one of the busiest streets and a main thoroughfare in town.
Call or email me,Vickie McCartney, if you are coming this way, I would love to take you to see it!
It really is pretty amazing to see in person. This picture doesn't really do it justice. In the next photo I tried to capture the size of its trunk , go ahead and take a look....

Like I said, it would be much better if you could actually see it live, instead of these photos. If you are ever in Owensboro, Kentucky- be sure to look me up and give me a call. I would love to hear from you!

It is Sushi Time in Owensboro Kentucky.
My friend Pat Sturgeon and I have been habitually enjoying sushi together recently in Owensboro,Ky .
One of the places we have been enjoying our sushi is at a new place restaurant off Highway 54 called Ninki's.

We are like two little kids on Christmas going and trying out different sushi rolls every time we go to Ninki's.
Look at Pat's big smile, it is because she is so happy we are getting ready to get our fix of some of our favorite sushi rolls. I don't think we have tried anything yet there that we don't like love. Last time we we there I took a few pictures of the place and of Pat, and I even remembered to take a picture of one of the rolls before we started eating it, except now I can't remember what the name of the roll is was! (Could it be my age?)
But, it was awesome,as usual.
And I can tell you that we ate the whole thing and a few more. One of the best things about their sushi rolls besides the wonderful flavors, textures and freshness is the actual presentation. Their food is actually beautiful to look at, and even better to consume!
The other thing is it isn't so much food that you feel so full when you are finished.
Hmmm, maybe that is why people that eat sushi all of the time and don't eat the typical American food, are thin.
Maybe I should consider eating this every day. Then maybe I would be thin too!
Hey, if you are ever looking for someone to go with you to enjoy some sushi, just give me a call, I don't think I could ever turn down going out for some sushi!
