Optima at Camelview

Believe it or not, there are many one bedroomloft units through out Scottsdale. Square footage is decent for a lock and leave type winter home or a professional on the go. The inventory starts out with the least expensive unit at Optima at Camelview. Optima at Camelview is a newer loft building that sits on the corner of Scottsdale Road and Highland, across from Scottsdale Fashion Square and in the area of dining, shopping and movies with in walking distance. There is a fitness center, dry cleaners and a couple cafes on premises.

Views of Camelback Mountain

    What is ArtWalk?

    Scottsdale ArtWalk is much like a large, easy-going open house for the Scottsdale Arts District located primarily along Main Street and Marshall Way in Scottsdale Downtown. “America’s Original ArtWalk,” this weekly gathering takes place every Thursday evening (year-round, except Thanksgiving) between 7 and 9 pm. That’s when all member galleries belonging to the ScottsdaleGallery Association (SGA) open their doors to the public and show off the work of the Southwest’s outstanding artists.

    A 30-year tradition, the ArtWalk process is simple — proceed at your own pace, wander into galleries that capture your fancy, stroll around a delightful area punctuated by dramatic statues, bubbling fountains, tree-covered courtyards, famed restaurants and more. Horse-drawn carriage rides and trolley rides are often available from plentiful free parking areas nearby.

    People love the fabulous weather and Scottsdale Downtown ambiance, and they often plan an entire evening that combines ArtWalk with a foray for drinks, dining or the theater.

    Be prepared to be surprised by the wide array of artistic styles that are represented by Scottsdalegalleries, from Western traditional to cutting-edge contemporary, from Southwest landscapes and Native American subjects to Russian Impressionism and more. Scottsdale ArtWalk keeps you on your cultural toes!

    Scottsdale ArtWalk is also a great place to “people watch.” Sure, famed artists may be guested at individual gallery receptions, or even demonstrating their work, but the art-walking public itself offers up a wide slice of life, a mix of locals and tourists of all kinds.

    Casual and eclectic, it’s a great time to visit the galleries and discover fabulous artists. Several times per year, the Scottsdale Gallery Association “pulls out all the stops” for Special Event ArtWalks with live music along the streets and special themed events.     Safari Drive luxury condos

    Safari Drive luxury condo sales have recently increased

    Safari Drive

    Safari Drive has reported 23 sales of its downtown condominiums thsrough the second quarter.

    The midrise project is on 4.8 acres northeast of Scottsdale and Camelback roads along the Arizona Canal, across from Scottsdale Fashion Square mall.

    The area is also host to numerous restaurants, movies, galleries and night life, many within walking distance.

    The project takes its name from the Safari Resort, built in 1956 and a downtown icon for 40 years. I can remember going to the salon in the lobby with my mom as a child in the late 70′s.

    Modern living area

    A total of 78 modern-style condos are available. Prices range from $399,000 to $699,500 for units of 1,166 to 1,789 square feet.

    Safari Drive was completed in 2007, but sales were halted because of the recession after just 15 units were sold. Chicago-based ST Residential bought the property and relaunched sales in January. ST Residential is also seeking city approval of a second phase of 160 units in two buildings.

    Amenities include two swimming pools, secure underground parking and an upcoming fitness center.
