Just when you thought everyone was staying out of the Private Equity Investment play there are avenues to secure potential above average return. Private equity is an asset class consisting of equity securities in operating companies that are generally not publicly traded on a stock exchange. Qualified investors typically provide private equity capital in the hopes of achieving risk adjusted returns that exceed those possible in the public equity markets and will typically include private equity as part of a broad asset allocation that includes traditional assets.
