Pros and cons of a Home office

I've been working from home for the past 2 years and feel like I've really stagnated. I thought it was going to be so ideal to be home and take care of my family while I'm at it. But it turns out, it's so distracting and loney. the funny thing too is that it seems when family and friends know you work from home, they seem to think it's ok to talk on the phone for a long time without any regard for the time they are taking away from my money making hours.

I also have an excuse to watch my favorite noon time show "Wowowee" since I like to cook at lunch time for dinner. That way, I'm all done at noon and that's when I decide to hit the shower. Isn't that disgusting? That's why any appointments I make are usually in the afternoon or evening.

Then 3pm rolls around and of course the kids start rolling in and turn on the TV full blast. It's so distracting. I finally had a door put in to my Living room/Home office. That was expensive since I had to have one of those decorator ones that's made of glass and some design, really nice.

Anyway, after all these years at home, I decided I needed a change so I took the plunge. I interviewed with several different companies and I think I found a winner! I am happy that I met and befriended DebbieZetner of Diversified Mortgage Group at the local realtor meeting. She was doing a fund raiser for "Save Pleasanton schools" and I offered to help. I gave her my card but didn't hear from her for at least 2 months. When she called me to join them, I had no idea. When I met with the owner, Rick Lewis, I could tell this guy is a motivator. He goes through business plans, goal planning and all kinds of stuff with all his LO's. They have kick off meetings and have a very nice office to boot. He seems to have a very well run office. I know like 5 agents there already. I wish I knew about this company way back.

I have a feeling they are going to really help me build up my potential to even more than I thought I even had. I think it makes a huge difference where you work and who you work for. What do you think?

Unreimbursed employee expenses

Of course there was one more thing that underwriters find that I can't seem to find no matter how hard I try. I could've believe it that my client who is a truck delivery driver at Lowe's claims almost $3600 in unreimbursed employee expenses. It was listed on his Schedule A but did not have the actual 2106 form that should've been together with the Federal tax returns. What a shame because now my clients did not qualify as is since I already had their back end debt to income ratio at 52%. So now, I had to deduct $300 a month from his income. What a problem!! So what happened was he has to refinance his car loan into a lower payment plus pay off a credit card of $3200. I was so ashamed to tell them that I missed that despite the fact that I even pulled their tax transcripts!! Anyway, I just thought I would share in case someone else misses that big one too!

About RSS feeds

I just found out from an old firend how to put in RSS feeds to your Twitter and facebook account! This is so cool!! Basically, an RSS feed is that orange symbol you will always find when you are reading news feeds like the Pleasanton Weekly, Golden Gate News, ABSCBN News. Think of all your news stations, newspapers, etc. and you will find this. SO what you do is subscribe to it. Then it automatically goes to your feeds which is a tab beside your favorites if you are using internet explorer. So now you have the feeds you want. Then you go to the Twitter website and subscribe to twitterfeed. You go back into your feeds, right click to properties to yet the URL address, copy and paste to twitterfeeds. ANd then, almost every hour, you will have a feed going into your twitter, facebook, laconi or hellotxt. That should be able to keep your website on the top of the web searches for now anyway until everyone figures out how to do this!! Good luck and email me if you've had luck with my instructions! It's not that hard!! Good luck!

Website company needed

I've talked to 220 Marketing and they have a fabulous lead capture website but their prices are pretty expensive. Can anyone recommmend a company that they are currently using and very happy with? Thanks!

SEo video, this is a very understandable way to get your name up on the search lists!

Gosh! I didn't know it could be this easy to get your name on the top of the Google search engine! And you can even look up keyword trends to see how consumers look/ type in word phrases to search for your business. This is a really cool video!
