My neighbor called me frantically this week as she received a letter from a company called Property Tax Reassessment. She said if she did not pay by 2/26/09 there would be a late penalty. She thought it was from the Solano County Tax Assessors Office.
I told her without even seeing the letter, NO WAY would Solano County being sending this out. It had to be someone trying to get a unsuspecting homeowner to send money to them to do something that is FREE to begin with. The appropriate form to use is on my website, you can also call the Assessors office @ 707-648-6210 for more information.
Sure enough this "official letter" would look real to someone and with all the media hype about real estate I am afraid homeowners will not look at this carefully and read all the fine print. Our local paper, Times Herald, had an article about the company....read what they have to say!
