Buying a home in Beaufort SC

Beaufort SC Neighborhoods and Home Buyer Information

Downtown Historic District - Here you will find our historic district. Many old Antebellum homes facing the waterways and within a short walk from downtown. Homes do come up for sale here, but prices can be high. Restaurants, shops, marinas, offices & bars make up the Bay Street area. Close in neighborhoods of Spanish Point & Cottage Farms are along Ribaut Road and close to the medical offices and hospital. Both desirable neighborhoods and houses are frequently available.

Lady's Island - Just a quick ride across the ICW to this closest island where many live. Neighborhoods include Newpoint, Coosaw Point, Walling Grove, Coosaw River Estates, Ashdale, Royal Pines, Pleasant Point, Telfair, Magnolia Place, Christine Place, and more. Right now we have an excellent choice of homes in all price ranges. Schools include Coosa Elementary, Ladys Island Elem, Ladys Island Middle & Beaufort High, all very desirable schools. Beaufort Academy, a private school is also found here. Close by is Cat Island & Dataw Island, both offering golf course, clubhouse & pool facilities.

Ride a little farther out along our beaches and you will find Harbor & Fripp Island. Condos and homes are available here with golf offered on Fripp. Along the way we would pass the turn off to Distant Island, Bermuda Bluff & Horse
Island. Each of these is on water with beautiful homes.

Back towards town we go to Port Royal which is a small community offering some shops, restaurants and walking areas. Port Royal Elementary is here. Next we come to Wrights Point, Picket Fences, Shell Point, Islands of Beaufort, Pinckney Retreat, Willow Point, Battery Shores, Habersham & Battery Point. All great neighborhoods with distinct personalities. Schools for these would be Shell Point Elem, Broad River Elem, Shanklin Elem, Riverview Charter, Robert Smalls Middle, Beaufort Middle & Battery Creek High. More details on schools can be provided if interested.

A little further south and we find Callawassie Island, a beautiful golf community with waterfront homes as well. Clubhouse and golf are also offered. Abundant wildlife and water birds inhabit this island and adjacent Spring Island which also has golf.

Many of our neighborhoods will offer community docks and boat ramps. Some also offer boat storage. Waterfront homes will sometimes have private docks but many are located on our pristine tidal creeks where boat access is limited at low tide due to our 9 foot tide.
