Day 12: 25 fun things to do in Henry county, GA for free!

Have you ever heard of Geocaching? Well, Geocaching has made it's way to Henry county, GA and is the featured topic of today's post about 25 fun things to do in Henry county, GA for free!

Geocaching is basically a "treasure hunt" where you use a handheld GPS device to locate a "treasure" using the clues and coordinates you download from www.geocaching.com, the official website of the Geocaching craze that is taking the world by storm.

Geocaching has been around for years. In fact, I used to play it with my husband and son nearly 7 years ago when we lived in Cobb county.

Henry countyhas recently jumped on the Geocaching bandwagon. As of August 1, 2010, you can visit the geocaching website (www.geocaching.com) and enter a Henry countyzip code to get the coordinates and clues for 2 geocaches hidden in 4 Henry county parks. Make a day of it...pack some food and drinks and spend one of the upcoming fall days looking for treasure buried under the pine straw, leaves, and bushes of Henry county's parks. It's a great way to do something fun and free in right here at home in Henry county.

For more information and for a copy of the rules/etiquette of Geocaching, visit www.co.henry.ga.us/ParksRecreation/geocache/shtml.

See you tomorrow with day 13 of the series "25 fun things to do in Henry county, GA for free!"
