Jay Holliday Finishes Triathlon on Team Event and Loves New Metro Brokers Annual Triathlon

Metro Brokers TV: And this is Mark Eibner with Metro Brokers TV. I am here with Jay Holliday and Jay, congratulations; you are finished.

Jay Holliday: Oh, yeah. I am nearly dead. I was waiting to get my first social security check, but it is not too far behind. So, I thought we did great today. Maria was awesome. We had Hanna [phonetic] as the swimmer. She did awesome and we are doing real good. I had to slow down a little bit you know because my legs and stuff, I am getting old, but I am still tougher than most you know.

Interviewer: Hey watch... you know, you have been a past president and everything. Did you ever think we would have something moving or a triathlon venue versus say golf tournaments?

Jay Holliday: Sorry Mark if I am a little sweaty, but I think this is a great venue. You know first year for this, I think that it's probably a promising thing, especially for years to come and hopefully, you know we will have great success and I know it is a great venue for Special Olympics and all our other contributors that you know that we contribute to. So, hopefully it can continue on.

Interviewer: Yeah. I think this is something that could grow into... the goal this year of 200 participants was met and I talked to Mike Bradley earlier. He was looking... thinking about 300 or 400 next year.

Jay Holliday: Well, you know it's possible. I mean... we have got a great concept. we have got a great company and you know we will see a lot of our signs everywhere and we are starting to really grow and I think events like this really help us too. I think the realtor community comes out. We have had a lot of people to support Special Olympics and it's probably going to help us grow.

Interviewer: Well, we appreciate you participating too Jay; great job man.

Jay Holliday: Yeah, next time I want to see you... you out there.

Interviewer: Well, if you go over and look at... if you go look at Chris Djorup, you would see where I would end up.

Jay Holliday: Yeah, yeah I know. He has got some big guns, that is for sure.

Interviewer: Thanks Jay.

Jay Holliday: All right.

First Annual Metro Broker Triathlon Coordinator Ian Adamson Calls Event a Success

Metro Brokers TV: And this is Mark Eibner with Metro Brokers TV with Metro Brokers first triathlon and I am here with Ian Adamson.

Ian Adamson: That is right.

Interviewer: Ian, welcome.

Ian Adamson: Thank you.

Interviewer: I guess you worked with Mike Bradley pretty closely putting this together.

Ian Adamson: We did. We worked really closely. He was... his goal was to put together a different event. So, we came up with a format that was slightly unusual and gives a little bit more back to the athletes and of course, with the charity aspect, makes it a special event.

Interviewer: Yeah. So, how many of these venues do you put on a year then?

Ian Adamson: I have put on a couple of hundred races over the last decade. I was a professional athlete for 12 years. So, I compete in a lot more races and then had a transition into directing in 1999.

Interviewer: Well, based on the feedback I have got from everyone here today, it's been a really a spectacular event especially for a first time event.

Ian Adamson: It is. We are very happy with the event. First time event, it's a good turn out, weather is great, everyone was safe, had fun, volunteers were fantastic, we have got great sponsors and food and as you can see everyone is enjoying it.

Interviewer: Yeah, well Metro Brokers and Special Olympics, we really appreciate you working with us putting this together.

Ian Adamson: That is my pleasure.

Interviewer: You are going to be working with us next year then hopefully?

Ian Adamson: Absolutely. I would love to work with you next year.

Interviewer: Great. We appreciate it Adam. Thank you very much.

Ian Adamson: Thank you.

Metro Brokers TV: And this is Mark Eibner with Metro Brokers TV. I am with Greg Leonard and Amanda and Greg and Amanda looks like you took first place for your special event, didn't you?

Amanda: Yes.

Greg: Oh, yeah, you took first place didn't you? We are the first one out of the water today.

Amanda: Yes, because the water is cold[Phonetic].

Interviewer: Cold water, so then you participated in the swimming right, Amanda?

Amanda: Yes.

Interviewer: And then you guys tag teamed on the bike?

Amanda: Yes, we are.

Interviewer: And then you finished... you finished up with the run?

Greg: That is right. I did the run. We did a tandem together on the bike and my pal here did the swim; she was awesome.

Interviewer: So, have you guys... have you guys did any of these events before these triathlons?

Greg: We have not done any triathlons before. We have done cycling events together. We have done the MS 150 on a tandem before; we are doing that again this year, but this is the first attempt at a triathlon. So... it won't be our last, will it Amanda?

Amanda: No way. [Inaudible] fast.

Greg: You swim fast.

Amanda: Yeah.

Interviewer: Well, Metro Brokers is proud to work with Special Olympics and I think this turned out to be a very good venue for us.

Greg: Yeah, I think so. We certainly do appreciate it. I am a board member with Special Olympics, a coach, and a father, so we are very appreciative for everything that Metro Brokers is doing for Special Olympics, Colorado. Thank you very much.

Interviewer: Proud to do it. Thank you.

Greg: All right. Let's go get a [Voice Cross Over].

Brian Goodack Winner of Metro Brokers First Annual Triathlon

Metro Brokers TV: And congratulations Brian Goodack. It looks like you were the first place position winner for the Under 35.

Brian Goodack: Thanks. It was a tough race. The run course was a little up and down, but overall, I think it's a good race.

Interviewer: So, what have you thought of the venue here for the first Metro Brokers Triathlon?

Brian Goodack: It was pretty good, yeah. I thought that the sum[Phonetic] course was well put together and I think overall for the first race, it's a pretty good course.

Interviewer: So, is it... you have competed in some other triathlons then I assume?

Brian Goodack: Yeah, I sure have. This is my third year I believe and due to job situation, my training isn't much. So, this is good to come in first for me. I will see how the rest of the field finishes, but....

Interviewer: So, you are working more and working out less.

Brian Goodack: Yeah, working out a lot less. So, I am happy with the swim, because the swim has actually fallen off quite a bit, but I was really happy with that; I didn't expect to come out of the water first

Interviewer: Well, hey, we appreciate your support for Special Olympics and being involved in the Metro Brokers First Annual Triathlon. Thank you Brian.

Brian Goodack: Thank you.

Sydney Cornell: It's awesome. It is nice and small and it's awesome for a first year. One of my friends works for you guys and so... my husband runs LoDo's so...

Interviewer: Oh, excellent.

Sydney Cornell: So, we are kind of a little involved as well. So, I think it's awesome.

Interviewer: So, have you ran in some other events yourself then? This isn't your first event I assume.

Sydney Cornell: No. My next one is Buffalo Springs Creek in Lubbock, Texas and I am going to qualify for Kona[Phonetic], but I have to win, so this was a good precursor.

Interviewer: Yeah excellent, excellent. So, you will be here next year for our second annual?

Sydney Cornell: I will try to keep my title.

Interviewer: Yes. What is your time coming in then you think roughly?

Sydney Cornell: I don't really know. I think about one... I don't know, because I started at [Voice Cross Over] yeah maybe a little less, yeah.

Interviewer: Well, pretty impressive.

Sydney Cornell: Thank you very much.
