Cinco Ranch is one of the top master planned communities in the entire Country. The amazing variety of amenities including parks, lakes, golf, tennis, basketball, boating, walking trails, nature trails, and water parks give residents the feeling that they are on vacation year round.
We do get an occasional complaint (and this could be said of the entire Houston area)...the homes all look alike. To be honest some truth lies in this statement. Traditional south Texas homes are large box-like brick homes designed to give you the most bang for the buck. Most of these home range from 3000-4000sqft and the squaredimensions are used to take advantage of somewhat smaller yard sizes. In the middle of all these traditional Texas homes in the Katy area lies the Cottage Grove section of Cinco Ranch.
For starters Cottage Grove is in the middle of everything...walk to the Exemplary Elementary School (in fact all three schools are Exemplary...a very rare triple) Williams Elementary. The Katy Family YMCA is right across the street and just up the block is Villagio...a retail, restaurant, and office complex that is loaded with upscale options. Cottage Grove is also close to The La Centerra Mall, Lifetime Fitness, the Grand Parkway, the Westpark Tollway, and just a short drive to I-10 for easy commutes to downtown or the Houston Energy Corridor.
With all this going for it, what really makes Cottage Grove special is the Cottage Series homes. They resemble New England and Florida cottage homes...right down to the beautiful front porches, plank siding exteriors, and pastel colors! The homes are smaller then the average Katy homes...from around 2000sqft up to just over 3000sqft with prices ranging from the low $200's to the low $300's If you are looking for something just a little different...but want to be in the middle of everything...this is a community you should keep your eye on!
We have many beautiful subdivisions and Master Planned Communities here in Katy. If you are moving to the area it can be a little intimidating trying to decide which one fits you best.
A community to add to your list is Green Trails. Although Green Trails has a Houston address it is in the Katy area and feeds the award winning KatyiSD school district. While many of the communities in the Katy area have lots of amenities like parks, pools, walking trails, and lakes...and while Green Trails is loaded with amenities it stands out for two reasons: It is just loaded with trees...tall pines run throughout the community and give Green Trails the feel of an old established town in the Northeast. The second reason is that Green Trails is the closest Master Planned Community Katy has to the Houston Energy Corridor. This means you will have a very short commute to work...just a couple of exits on I-10! The Christus St Catherine hospital is also across the street from Green Trails. This is a full service hospital with emergency room!
A wide variety of homes are available in Green Trails...from small 1 story homes priced around $200k to large custom homes priced in the 600k range. Green Trails also has a small section of Townhomes that are highly upgraded and straddle the 200k to 250k price range. For a wide variety of reasons this is a community you should consider when Katy is on your map!
