Where are the Pumpkins at in Casselberry FL? My son and daughter have been bugging me and my wife for the last week about getting pumpkins. Well I finally found a great place to get them, and we will be returning next year to get more.
We stopped by the Community United Methodist Church and got some great pumpkins. This place is great, the staff was great, and friendly. There were alot of activities for my 3 and 6 year old to do. They had Granny Pumpkin that sings songs and a bake sale, it was really fun. A great thing about this pumpkin patch is that all of the proceeds go to their student ministry, its a fundraiser for the kids to go to camp and different events all year long. Plus its free admission, and you don't find that often enough! So if your interested in buying Pumpkins check them out.
They are open from 9am to 9pm Mon-Sat and 12pm to 9pm on Sun.

I am sitting here just unwinding, and I am thinking back about what I did today. I honestly feel that somehow since I became a Real Estate Agent, the sun sets early and the clock speeds UP!
I Started out the day with a Shower and Breakfast. Then from there I checked my email, and made some phone calls.
Then it was time to drive to some local business's and ask them them to be part of my client appreciation program. After I went to 5 local businesses and got 5 contacts I came back home and talked to a Mortgage Broker about a client, then I called some other agents to set up apointments for the next couple of days so my client has homes to look at.
Then I called the mortgage Broker back to get some clearification on something. Then I called the client back to let him know what is going. After that I call a few more people and clients about different issues that they are having.
It is now 11:11pm and I do not know if that is good or bad and I am really exhausted. but I feel extremly happy with my day! I had a great day for the time that I have put in.
But where did the time go?
Oh well there is always tomorow!
Am I going to be a great REALTOR or your Average Joe?
I must apologize is advance I am just going to type whats on my mind, So if I start to ramble I really am sorry.
I posted a blog on friday called Shattered Dreams http://actvra.in/kyT I have received a lot of comments about it. Last night I was trying to go to sleep and 2 things kept running thru my mind. The first one was how was I going to get my first client, and the other thought was what are my core values going to be as far as customer and client care?
As a Realtor I think it is not only our job but it is a duty that we take care of our client. Let me explain where I am coming from. I have been a REALTOR for less then 3 weeks, I got into this not to do it part time but to invest my life into serving people, I have friends that are heart-broken because they have lost their house and they are not bad people, just people that made bad choices. I honestly believe that if we go into a realationship with a client that we will make money for our time, but by doing so we have a obligation to follow-up and help them along the way. We cannot just take the money and run, I know some do, but I refuse to do that.
There are many reasons to follow-up and help them adjust, not the least being maybe they will refer us to a friend or family member. I am not that naive to think that every client will be great, but they have paid us a fee to take care of them. If they have used us to buy or sell a house, we have not only invested our time but we have invested theirs, so to say that we did our job, and that is all then we are wrong.
We have got to pay it forward. If you were to buy a new car you would get a warranty. Well my warranty to my clients is going to be, whether I like you or not, you chose me as your REALTOR, out of all the other REALTORS you decided to go with me and I will take care of you. Not for a month while your looking to buy or sell but for a lifetime. I know that there is no written law about but we must dedicate our life to doing well.
If you look at the state of the world, and I am not talking about everywhere, or even our country, but as we drive down the road in our own hometowns we see problems. My grandfather always said "Mike slow down and smell the roses" that is so true, we have got to understand that as a professional we are the"Ones In the Know" as they say. Even just starting out I find myself gravitating toward situations that are needing a helping hand, I have been blessed over the last couple weeks by just offering myself to help others. I really have not volunteered that often in the past to do stuff, but since I got back from Afghanistan I really feel the need to just step up to the plate and help people. I see so many opportunities in my own home town to help people, and alot of it cost me nothing but my time.
One of my favorite TV show's is called Under Cover Boss. It is about a CEO of a business that goes undercover to see how his employees are doing, he wants to see the good and bad.
Well we have that same opportunity! If we are honest with ourselves we really do know where we need to improve, My own issue is time management, it seems sometimes that I have wasted a whole day doing nothing of what I planned to do. I think we need to look at the entire picture of our lives and business and figure out what is most important to us and our personal and professional goals, and then make a road map of how we are going to get there.
I apologies for going on and on,
Thanks for reading
IT'S A GREAT DAY!!!!

As some of you know I am really new to Real Estate. As a kid I remember when my parents sold our home. I thought that the Real Estate Agent was GOD! I saw this guy in a suit come over to our house and walked thru our house, the same house we spent all day cleaning and wiping everything down, making it look spotless and perfect. He walked thru and commented on how nice the tree forest wall paper on the kitchen wall was, and how the green toilet looked just great. After my mom and dad showed him the how nice the house was, we all sat at the kitchen table and that is where this man told us and yes I mean me, my mom and dad what he thought about our lovely house, and you guessed it I was in awe. This guy must be smart, he dressed in a suit, hair slicked back, nice shiny pen, he even had a leather briefcase. That was my first impression of a Real Estate Agent.
So as an adult I still had this picture of what a Real Estate Agent should be, well my balloon was popped, (and I dont mean the RE/MAX Balloon that I work for). When me and my wife bought our first home, in the beginning when we started looking for home it was a new and wonderful experience, but when we did not find one in the first 4 houses, something changed. It seemed like we were wasting our agents time, but all we were trying to do was find OUR DREAM HOME. Is that to much to ask for. I do not think so. Our total search was less then 3 weeks, and it was about the 11th home. which is actually very few veiwings looking back now. We used a VA loan and everything cleared in about 30 days, after we closed we got the keys and a handshake. That was all, no note or card, no phone call 30 days later, absolutely nothing.
About 3 weeks after we moved into our new home my brother wanted to move up and get a nicer home, did I refer him to my Realtor, no I did not. I know that sounds bad but it is true. I could not refer our Realtor because of the service that we had received.
Now as a Realtor, I still hold the same feeling.
I grew up with a wonderful and sweet grandmother, she was one of the greatest women in my life. Years ago I heard the saying "Treat every client as if they were your Grandmother" and that is what I want my business model to be.
I know that being new to Real Estate I still have a twinkle in my eye, and that I can change the world. What world you might ask, I can change the world around my SPHERE OF INFLUENCE. One home at a time. Whether for a couple and it is there first home or by helping a grandmother stay in her home of 40 years that is being foreclosed on.
If I ever lose the drive and my dream to do this, I hope I can look back at tonight and remember why I decided to be a Real Estate Agent
As aways:
I'm never to busy for your referrals.
Its a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
