Michael Swift was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. His lifetime of experience here gives him insight into every part of town and exactly how the Nashville market works. Michael Swift made a natural transition into full time real estate in 2004, working for a home builder as an agent. Monte and I met Michael through a referral of a mutual friend of ours. We were living in Dallas, Texas and planning the "Big" move to Nashville. We arranged to meet Michael on our initial visit to Nashville so we could "scout" various neighborhoods. Coming from Dallas, we knew absolutely nothing about where we wanted to be geography wise. We were only here for a couple of days and had a HUGE list of homes we wanted to see (28 to be exact!!).
Michael picked us at our hotel early in the morning on one of the coldest days of the year...not to mention the "small blizzard" that decided to hit that day. Michael had thoroughly prepared and had every house mapped out like clockwork so we could make the most of the one full day we had to look at properties. Not once did he complain about the number of houses we were asking him to show us that day (looking back it was a little insane to expect him to show us 28 houses in one day, but he did)!!
By the end of the day, we had looked at almost all the homes on our list , yet we were feeling very frustrated that we hadn't even come close to finding anything. We had one last house to look at, it was getting dark, we were all freezing and almost decided to skip it altogether.... but, we all persevered and lo and behold, the last house we looked at in Lenox Village (which was still under construction), ending up being the one we purchased. It was the perfect house!
Over the next three months, Michael made a point to send us construction updates and pictures of our house every couple of weeks since we could not personally track the construction progress on a regular basis. Being so far away, it really helped us feel "connected" the the home we were purchasing, since we couldn't just stop by to see how things were going. This meant a lot to us, because Michael wasn't just about the close and "the commission", as many realtors can be today. He took a vested interest in our concerns, our geography challenges and helped us see the construction process through all the way to close. He even enlisted the help of some friends to help unload our moving truck since we didn't know anyone! Now that's service!
Michael is honest, cares about the special needs of his clients and really goes "the extra mile". I first met Michael at Starbucks in Antioch. I was browsing the Internet, looking at houses and trying to decide if my fiance, Shaun, and I really were capable of buying a home, as we are so young. I overheard Michael and his friend conversing behind me about realty and houses, and so I decided to ask if either of the two were realtors. Michael said, "I am!" and he immediately came over to talk to me about our options. Shaun and I were in a very difficult position, as we had to find a place to live, either buying or renting, within three weeks. As soon as that night, Michael had emailed us a list of homes to review. We found the perfect home for us, and we closed in two and a half weeks. We feel that if it had been any other realtor, we would not have closed in time. He made sure we were right on schedule, as he understood the urgency of the situation. Now we are getting settled into our new home, and we couldn't be happier! We feel very fortunate to have found a realtor who we could completely trust, and who we felt like was on our side.
