History

Michael Swift was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. His lifetime of experience here gives him insight into every part of town and exactly how the Nashville market works. He comes from a legacy of real estate. His father was a licensed real estate agent, and his uncle, now a successful appraiser, began his career in real estate as a builder.

Michael began to see his real estate dreams developing even while learning other necessary skills. He developed his keen people skills as a young restaurant manager. His reputation for great customer service and leadership in a team environment follows him to this day. Michael's propensity to excel was no more evident than when he changed careers to sales. He began selling luxury leisure items, pools and hot tubs, and became one of the top sales negotiators. Michael's keen sense about people and his skill in negotiation make him your best asset in real estate dealings.

Michael Swift made a natural transition into full time real estate in 2004, working for a home builder as an agent. In 2005, Michael stepped into general real estate, helping his clients buy and sell residential property. Michael has a passion for showing people how to achieve the American dream, home ownership, as a lifetime investment. He has many transactions to his credit, opening doors for many families to become homeowners.

On his way to becoming the top realtor in Nashville, Michael continues to fine tune his skill and grow his knowledge. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors, an Accredited Buyer Representative and a Member of the Certified Residential Specialists. He takes more than 5 times the 2 year minimum amount of continued education required to keep his license current every year. He is a certified tax preparer, as well as a licensed contractor in the state of Tennessee. So Michael's intricate knowledge of homes far exceeds that of an average real estate agent. He will help you find exactly what you want and need, or he will build it for you!

In addition to being a member of the Real Estate Investors Network, Michael heads up an active real estate investment group. Many of his clients purchase and renovate properties for resale.

Michael is a leader in his community, heading up a neighborhood crime watch in his native Antioch neighborhood. He serves regularly in his home church as an usher and small group leader. He has a 12 year old son, his pride and joy, who shares his enthusiasm for football and great food.

Monte and I met Michael through a referral of a mutual friend of ours. We were living in Dallas, Texas and planning the "Big" move to Nashville. We arranged to meet Michael on our initial visit to Nashville so we could "scout" various neighborhoods. Coming from Dallas, we knew absolutely nothing about where we wanted to be geography wise. We were only here for a couple of days and had a HUGE list of homes we wanted to see (28 to be exact!!).

Michael picked us at our hotel early in the morning on one of the coldest days of the year...not to mention the "small blizzard" that decided to hit that day. Michael had thoroughly prepared and had every house mapped out like clockwork so we could make the most of the one full day we had to look at properties. Not once did he complain about the number of houses we were asking him to show us that day (looking back it was a little insane to expect him to show us 28 houses in one day, but he did)!!

By the end of the day, we had looked at almost all the homes on our list , yet we were feeling very frustrated that we hadn't even come close to finding anything. We had one last house to look at, it was getting dark, we were all freezing and almost decided to skip it altogether.... but, we all persevered and lo and behold, the last house we looked at in Lenox Village (which was still under construction), ending up being the one we purchased. It was the perfect house!

Over the next three months, Michael made a point to send us construction updates and pictures of our house every couple of weeks since we could not personally track the construction progress on a regular basis. Being so far away, it really helped us feel "connected" the the home we were purchasing, since we couldn't just stop by to see how things were going. This meant a lot to us, because Michael wasn't just about the close and "the commission", as many realtors can be today. He took a vested interest in our concerns, our geography challenges and helped us see the construction process through all the way to close. He even enlisted the help of some friends to help unload our moving truck since we didn't know anyone! Now that's service!

Michael is honest, cares about the special needs of his clients and really goes "the extra mile". I would recommend Michael's services to anyone looking to buy or sell, and who want to work with someone they can trust will put their best interest first. I first met Michael at Starbucks in Antioch. I was browsing the Internet, looking at houses and trying to decide if my fiance, Shaun, and I really were capable of buying a home, as we are so young. I overheard Michael and his friend conversing behind me about realty and houses, and so I decided to ask if either of the two were realtors. Michael said, "I am!" and he immediately came over to talk to me about our options. Shaun and I were in a very difficult position, as we had to find a place to live, either buying or renting, within three weeks. As soon as that night, Michael had emailed us a list of homes to review. We found the perfect home for us, and we closed in two and a half weeks. We feel that if it had been any other realtor, we would not have closed in time. He made sure we were right on schedule, as he understood the urgency of the situation.
