Everywhere you look in the media you hear how down the housing market is. It is important to understand that our country's housing market is having it's problems, it is equally important that you understand that the housing market is a regional issue. Right now in Texas property values are continuing to rise. Yes, sells are down this year, however we are not experienceing a drop in values like so many other parts of the country. If you are a local homeowner be comforted by this news. If you are looking to buy, it is important that you understand that you can't low-ball sellers and expect to get the home. We don't have a huge inventory of houses sitting on the market. A matter of fact, I visited a new development this morning, and they have NO inventory waiting to be sold. The lots are selling, and they can't get the houses up quick enough for the buyers.

Yes, we all are feeling the pinch when we go fill our cars up with gas...and there's a part of us going, maybe the news is right?..Things are looking bad....But the reality is there are plenty of qualified buyers and motivated sellers to keep our local housing market moving forward. This may not be a year of record sells, but it is still a year with great homes on the market, and great opportunities for buyers.
