Take a Walk Along Anaheim Coves
The City of Anaheim invites all the residents and visitors to explore the recently opened Anaheim Coves ares. This is a 14 acre nature park located along the Santa Ana River between Ball Rd and Lincoln AVE.

Here is some more inforamation about the Anaheim Coves:
Anaheim Coves represents the long-standing relationship linking the City, and the Orange County Water District (OCWD) to the Santa Ana River. The City has added a permeable 1.5 mile multi-use and handicap accessible trail, restrooms, parking, interpretative signage, irrigation, native landscaping including the planting of more than 1,000 trees, and observation areas throughout the park located adjacent to Burris Basin. The basin will continue to be used as an important water recharge and wildlife habitat area, with the City added amenities allowing residents and guests to enjoy the river trail system and natural environment in an urban setting.
“Anaheim Coves is beautiful, and I know it will be a popular place for families and neighbors to enjoy,” said Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait. “We are grateful to the Orange County Water District in sharing our vision to create this scenic outdoor space. Anaheim was named by German settlers to mean “Home by the Santa Ana River,” and at the opening of Anaheim Coves we will be one step closer to our historic roots.”
“Anaheim Coves gives residents an opportunity to enjoy walking trails around the lake that actually serves an important role in replenishing drinking water supplies for most of Orange County,” said Claudia Alvarez, President of OCWD. “It’s part of OCWD’s aquifer recharge system along the Santa Ana River where water is stored and percolates to deep aquifers, and visitors to the Coves may observe endangered California least terns and other sensitive bird species that have made Burris Basin a favorite nesting spot.”
Butterflies were released by local school children at the Anaheim Coves ground-breaking ceremony on April 13, 2010. We will again welcome local school children who will scatter flower seeds to complement the growth of Anaheim’s local habitat at Anaheim Coves.
Parking for the dedication ceremony will be available along Rio Vista St., or at the Calvary Baptist Church parking lot (Rio Vista St., and Wagner St.). Funds for this project were provided by the State of California and the Federal Recreational

Who is Buying Homes in USA.
On average a lot of homes sells on a daily basis. Over 12,000 per day. Many are investors and many are first time buyers. Lot of people are buying homes for all cash. Many investors buy for all cash from desperate sellers, or from foreclosure auctions.
You will notice that the first time buyers is the biggest percentage of home buyers. First time buyers are what you call the engine of the home sales. If they don't buy the entry level homes, 2nd and 3rd time buyers can't sell their homes and buy. The low interest rates loans and FHA government homes really help the first time buyers to qualify and purchase loans.
Please see graphic below for a breakdown of the home sales

Anaheim Shade Trees Program. Free Shade Trees. Anaheim Hills Free Trees.
City of Anaheim is 'giving away' free Shade trees to Anaheim Residents and businesses alike.
They have had a similar program for quite a while. I remember when I first moved to Anaheim Hills, we got 2 six foot shade trees, and we just got another one last year. The one we got last year was acutally a fruit tree and have already enjoyed fruits from it!
Here is some information on how you can get free trees and learn what the program is all about.
"TreePower, a partnership between Anaheim Public Utilities and the City of Anaheim's Community Services Department, offers trees to Anaheim homeowners, schools, non-profits, multi-family complexes and public lands. An additional tree rebate program is also available for homeowners. Shade trees help cut the costs of air conditioning. Additionally, trees help beautify residences, schools, and the community as a whole.
How the Program Works
Actually, there are three TreePower Programs to choose from:
1. Shade Trees for single and multi-family homes
a. Call us at 491-TREE, or sign up through our Web site.
b. A TreePower representative will schedule a visit to your home or complex. During this visit, your TreePower representative will:
i. recommend different types of trees that will maximize shading and require minimal pruning
ii. help site the best location for your tree(s)
iii. provide you with planting and maintenance tips
iv. ask you to sign a planting agreement
v. discuss delivery arrangements
c. Your trees will be delivered in about two weeks for you to promptly plant and stake.
Single family residences can get up to six free trees through this program, plus three more through the residential rebate program (see below). Multi-family complex tree limits are dependent on property size and needs.
2. Residential rebates for shade trees you purchase
With this program, you have the freedom to select your own trees and to plant them whenever you'd prefer.
a. TreePower will provide you with a rebate coupon (call 491-TREE), which is available exclusively for single-family homes. You can get as many as three trees, and you will be reimbursed up to $20 per tree.
b. Go to any nursery you'd like and select the tree(s) yourself. (Be sure to save your receipt!) Please note the recommended tree types and that trees must be 5-gallons or larger when purchased, and with a mature height not to exceed 25 feet. Recommended trees include Crepe Myrtle, Flowering Plum, Hong Kong Orchid, Chinese Fringe, Bronze Loquat, Gold Medallion, Pink Melaleuca and Redbud. (Fruit trees are not eligible for rebates.)
c. Plant your tree(s) at your convenience. The location of your tree must comply with program guidelines - at least 8 feet from the house and on the east, south, or west side of your home.
d. Once planted, mail your receipt and coupon to: TreePower-Residential Rebate Program P.0. Box 3222 Anaheim, CA 92803
e. Within about 10 days of receipt, a TreePower specialist will inspect your tree(s) for correct planting locations and qualifying species.
f. Following the inspection, your rebate check will be mailed to you within approximately 30 days.
3. Trees for schools and non-profit organizations.
Depending on the property's needs, free trees are offered to schools and non-profits to increase shading and reduce cooling costs.
a. Call us at 491-TREE, or sign up through our Web site.
b. We'll send a representative to your site to perform an on-site audit, explaining tree selection and tree location criteria, as well as recommendations for what trees will work best for you. You can receive as many trees as your site will accommodate, but all must be strategically placed.
c. Make your selection. A responsible party, such as an officer or administrator must sign a contract for the trees.
d. Trees will be delivered on a pre-arranged date. Planting tips will also be provided to help you get your trees off to a healthy start.
For schools, a TreePower representative will be available to perform planting demonstrations and train your people. Schools find this an ideal opportunity to coordinate the tree planting with environmental education curriculum, including students and school district staff.
Program Advantages
Well-placed, mature shade trees can reduce air conditioning use by 10% to 40%, saving money on your electric bill. Concrete, asphalt and glass store and reflect heat. Heat is also generated by vehicles and manufacturing. Combine these factors with a reduction in green spaces and trees, and temperatures can rise as much as 8 degrees. These effects can be offset by nature's own air conditioners - trees. Trees make the air feel cooler by releasing water vapor from their leaves. Mature trees have a significant potential to save energy, conserve water and clean the air. Fact is, they can reduce water use of a lawn by 30% to 50%. Further, trees help keep the air healthy by releasing life-sustaining oxygen. And lastly, just being around trees makes people feel good. These naturally attractive additions to the landscape enhance the community's beauty.
