Another Great First Friday In Bryan!

Last night we went to another great First Friday in historic downtown Bryan. My wife and I met another couple at The Brauehouse , a great little German Restaurant and I had something that ended in either "schnitzel or shitzel" either way it was delicious and the roast pork that was so tender with two kinds of cabbage something and a side carrot something plus 2 large round bread dumpling something. Doesn't matter what the names were. It was all delicious!

Then we visited various downtown ladies knick nack shops and ended up at the new Must Be Heaven location where we gobbled down some Bluebell ice cream. We were ready to pass out by then so we hit the streets to walk it off. Saw lots of other real estate folks and a lot of Aggie Students. The game this was in Dallas at the new football stadium ...so many Aggies stayed home .

If you have never made First Friday please make a date for the next one. The First Friday (evening) of every month!

Technically Perfect Home...Otherwise a Home Without a Heart

While showing a home recently something dawned on me.....this home is almost in mint condition ...technically speaking. Everything is spotless. Everything works as designed mechanically. There literally is a place for everything and everything is in its place. There was only one problem . The material used to build the home was pretty much as cheap as mankind could invent. This Home had NO warmth to it at all . It had the heart and soul of a computer. It was a heartless home! How sad I thought. Aesthetically on a ten scale I would give it a 2. It was nothing more than a place to eat, sleep, and pay bills. How sad for this home and the sellers.

Do Not make this mistake when you build your next home. Please insert a heart!

Annual Wildlife Survey Is Part of Good Management Program

Each year in August and September we perform a survey of the deer population on our ranch in Brazos County just east of College Station. Currently our property is part of a local wildlife management association consisting of various owners and over 20,000 acres. In conjunction with this program and the Texas Parks and Wildlife doe permit program , we have to provide a survey to get an idea as to how many, if any doe need to be harvested annually. Last year we had to harvest 5 on 276 acres. I suspect this year due to the drought that the requirement may be less. Because so much of our land is heavily wooded, we cannot rely solely on in personal surveys so we are trying hidden cameras. Here are a couple of recent photos.
