As the summer draws to a close some sellers become a little anxious . Who can blame them? A huge number of the sales closed on single family and investment properties in this area are purchased by families providing housing for their children attending both Blinn College in Bryan and Texas A and M University in College Station. Many of these sales are closed before the end of August and typical residential contract transactions can take between 2 1/2 and 4 weeks to close. So naturally many of the sellers begin reducing prices and seriously negotiating with buyers in mid to late July.
So if you are considering purchasing a single family home, a duplex, or other residential investment property in College Station there is no better time to act than right now!

The last " real Aunt Jemima" is buried near our home in Robertson County. Rosie Lee Moore Hall was her name, and she is buried in the Hammond Colony Cemetary near the Black Jack community just a few miles from Hearne Texas. Rosie was just one of several individuals that played the part of Aunt Jemima for the Quaker Oats Company. Many of us can recall her smiling face in the morning, on a box of delicious pancakes.

I always enjoy going to the monthly Chamber of commerce mixers. Last week's was held at Tom Light Chevrolet in Bryan. It was a fun event with hot dogs , cold drinks, and apple pie. Lots of Chamber members showed up to enjoy the food and see some really nice vehicles.......dream on . I loved the 09 SS Chey Camaro and the 09 Corvette. Despite all the problems General Motors is going through there is just something about American Muscle in a car. They even sound better than the foreign competition that often times sound like my 2 cycle weedeater at top RPM. I sincerely hope GM comes out of all this stronger than ever and appreciate Light Chevy for hanging in there and inviting the chamber members out. They do a really good job!

Well at least in modern history and many economic and financial experts are thinking so also. Of course there are limiting factors involved...But if your credit, your cash on hand , your job security is safe, and you want a home ......then Go For It! With prices either already low or falling, super low interest rates, and in some areas at least an over supply of homes, you simply don't have to be a professor to deduce that it may very well add up to the perfect storm weather for buying your dream home. And combine all those positive factors with the available tax credit and you suddenly have ..................
