The flooding from a levee break in Fernley Nevada (NV) has had a fair amount of media coverage (nationally and local). I noticed an increase in search activity for specific street names in the area on my site and thought I'd try to help people out by putting up a google map showing the flood damaged area based on the best information that is available from local news sources. I tried to find something like this but could not - only a summary aerial photo.
View a Fernley Levee Flood Area by Google Map on my blog site. The map is fully interactive and can be viewed in full screen.
I hope this helps in a small way for local home owners and other interested parties.

Minden and Gardnerville Investors:
I just posted the most recent (through all of December, 2007) list of what many refer to as "pre foreclosure" homes. All of the homes have had a Notice of Default delivered to the home owner and filed with Douglas County.
Interested? check out the complete list of Minden and Gardnerville Notice of Default properties on my blog site.

If you are shopping for a bargain deal in Minden, Nevada, here are a couple of resources to hel you out:
Minden is a small town at the base of the Easter Sierra Nevada Mountain range (about 10-12 miles east of Lake Tahoe as the crow files). Minden is one of the primary communities in what is known as the "Carson Valley". Gardnerville and Genoa make up other towns.
Here are a few links to help out any of you who are Carson Valley bargain hunters:
I hope this is useful for you!

Lake Tahoe home buyers:
Even though Lake Tahoe median home prices have continued to climb during the market correction over the last two years, there are sign of stress cracks. If you are holding out for a potential good deal with an "unemotional" home seller, you may want to check out the Lake Tahoe foreclosure homes and short sale listings on my site.
There are only four properties on this "short list" - all in Nevada. My guess is you would find a great deal more in South Lake Tahoe, CA.

Attention Sparks Investors:
We are all bombarded with statistics from the national media on the mortgage mess and the ensuing foreclosure woes of many homeowners. If you are pursuing foreclosure and short sale homes in Sparks, the list and related information on my site may be exactly the local snapshot of market and listing information you've been looking for.
While you are at it, you should check out other related information for nearby cities such as Reno and Carson City as well as up to date market data.
Feel free to comment or call me if you have any questions.
Hope the information is useful!
