The Dream Team Mitzi White & Phyllis Carpenter

T-ball team

Sitting at the baseball field yesterday evening watching my grandson play, I began talking to another little boy's mother. We began talking about how great it was to have a great program in our area for the kids to play. The field is nice, the field house, the batting cage, concession stand, all very well taken care of.

Just so happens, this mom is on the Board for the League in our area. We talked about the programs, teams, fund raising. I thought......"why not buy an ad in the program?" It honestly never occurred to me. The more we talked, I learned that a t-ball team needed a sponsor.

Very reasonably priced, I made the decision to sponsor the little t-ball team. How excited the kids will be to have the name of OUR team on THEIR uniforms....The Dream Team. It's a great way to get our name out there in front of more public AND a great way to help little children get to play that otherwise would not have a sponsor!

It's all about the community!!! And we LOVE ours! Good Luck Dream Team t-ball team!

Where should you put your advertising dollars?

I am sure the answer to this question depends on the market in your area. The market in our area is great! We are starting a new marketing campaign that will surely be successful. We do advertise on the television. We also do the real estate books and direct mail. Also, we are in the process of having three different billboards made to put up in our county. All of this cost us our advertising dollar.

However, we have found that the best method of advertising is just word of mouth, referrals from friends and/or past clients. And this cost us $0 dollars! Just make sure you ask for referrals from everyone you know! Whether they are buying/selling or not, they may know of someone who is. Try it, it works and it's FREE!!

Sky's the Limit!

Above the clouds on our way to OrlandoLast Last week, we, the Dream Team, flew to Orlando Florida to attend a Hobbs/Herder Marketing Gateway. It was very informative and well worth the trip. We met a lot of really nice Realtors from other states and Greg Herder was our speaker. He really motivated us!!! The sky is truly the limit! What a breakthrough we had! We do have to say that we will never be the same after that Gateway.

We learned so much about ourselves, our team and marketing. Most importantly we believe that the greatest thing we learned is that WE are the only ones holding US back. Now with US out of the way, we are ready, and have already started, to blow the doors off this business.

Here in West Virginia, the market did not have the big explosion a few years ago that the rest of the Country did. Therefore, we did not have the major slump that happened. We are really excited about this business!

When we were above the clouds, that's when we realized that the sky IS the limit! We highly recommend to you Realtors out there to attend a Hobbs/Herder Marketing Gateway if at all possible. It has truly changed our lives!

New Team

I have a partner now! I'm so excited about being on a team. Her name is Phyllis Carpenter and she has been in the real estate business for a few years too. I am so motivated by the formatin of this team. We have been working on flyers, cards, brochures, etc. with our new team name on it. We are "The Dream Team: We Make Your New Home Dreams Come True!" We think that's kinda catchy...what do you think?

Phyllis and I have a lot in common in our personal lives, both married, kids, grandkids, Packers fans, I could go on and on. So far (it's been about 3 weeks) we have had a great time and been very productive. It's hard to get out of the habit of saying me and I instead of we and us, but I'm working on that.

Do any of you work on teams? How are they working out? How did you officially announce your formation? Any suggestions/recommendations would be appreciated. So I guess this really isn't a blog, it is more like a information seeking comment.

I'm just excited!!! I mean--WE are excited!
