How to Become a Licensed Real Estate Practitioner in the State of Massachusetts

For those beginning their pursuit of a real estate salespersons license, the State of Massachusetts requires that you complete 24 hours of pre-licensing instruction through a state-approved real estate school before you may sit for the salesperson's exam. Separately, those wishing to obtain a real estate broker's license must complete 30 hours of classroom instruction and must have had worked with a real estate brokerage firm for at least one year, prior to applying for a broker's license and sitting for the exam.

Where to Go to Real Estate School in Massachusetts?

While the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® does not offer the salespersons and brokers' pre-licensing classes, several local REALTORS® associations do, including those located in Boston, Danvers, Pembroke, Reading, Springfield, Stoughton, Taunton and West Yarmouth.
