Tonight is the 7th and deciding game of the series for the American league and the winner will be headed to the WS this year.
What are you going to do in your 7th game of 2008? What I mean is that we are at the end of the year and we all have choices to make. The things we do now will effect the future. What are you going to do to ensure that you have balance in your life. That your living it with purpose. That work is only one part of your overall life and not something that is taking over your life.
Again it has been a very challenging year for many. I have learned lessons in 2008 that will have a positive impact on me for the rest of my life. I am happy for this.
Enjoy the game tonight and the one that we live every day.
It is a simple question. In the end if the answer is no then what are you going to do to change this so that you are? Please do read my other blogs and comment since many are focused on ways of making changes. Again make your goal this weekend to do something fun. Since this will produce a smile and this smile will go a long way.
Good Night
Relationships in life and business take time. I have found that many do not seem to value relationships. It surprises and saddens me. I personally enjoy building mutual beneficial relationships. Business is done on many levels by many different people but in the end if the foundation of the relationship is not strong then the business that is being done may face many many issues. So what do you do in your business and personal relationships to build them in a strong way? I ensure that people know that I am a man of character. This is not something that I can tell them verbally but instead must show them through my actions. I ensure that I listen to them and find out what it is that they have stress about or would like to change. Then I see if I can provide value in changing their situation through ideas that I may have or contacts that I may have that can help them get to a better place.
Many in business relationships look at the relationship only though the eyes of what can the other person do for me. This is very very sad. The reality is in our world we have many types of Capital. We have houses, bank accounts, and businesses to name a few. I think that many miss the greatest form of capital and that is Human Capital. I believe that it is the strongest Capital a person possess. I also think that people should try to invest in that human capital and they can do that by taking an approach of building strong relationships. Again my entire business is referral and I am blessed that I enjoy building relationships.

It is very hard to understand why people do the things that they do. We must all learn that some things are out of our control. The point being that we will continue to learn as long as we live but we may not always understand things as much as we may desire to. This leads back to acceptance and the rule of attitude of gratitude. Three of my recent six clients had issues that we had to overcome that had nothing to do with the nuts and bolts of the loan but instead outside factors in their life that impacted the thought process of proceeding with a loan. In the end I took the role of listener and then educator. In the end the clients make the final decision. It is a great business that we are in and we have the ability to impact many. We must always ensure that their best interest are the only thing that we focus on even if it appears to be the opposite of our best interest at that moment of time. Life is a marathon not a sprint and we learn each day how to be better in all aspects of our lives. Let me correct that and say that we have the chance to learn and improve if we desire to. I am blessed to have a business that is 100% referral and that is great because it fits into many of my other character and life goals. Life is good. I wish you all a great Sat night.
Baseball in MA the home of the World Series Champion RedSox is HUGE. I am a baseball fan and have been since childhood. I have over the years used my love for baseball as a branding item. I am a season ticket holder to the triple A affiliate of the Redsox which is the Pawsox and they play in Pawtucket RI. I use my pair of second row seats as a way to thank my clients, business partners and prospects. Again we all must invest in our business. I believe the more fun we have the better results we get. My clients have raved about the stadium and the seats. This is a very inexpensive way to thank people. In the end for the two seats it costs 16 per game for both. Many clients have commented that they have been to 40 + games at many ballparks across the country and never sat so close to the field.
As a child I spent the majority of the first two years of my life at children's hospital in Boston. As a young adult I was blessed during my accounting career to work at a local TV station that did a HUGE fundraiser for the Hospital it was an annual telethon. I was able to work on the event for several years in my early 20's while I was working at the station. I also was blessed to be a big brother in the big brother big sister organization in my early 20's. These two things built an inner love for helping non for profits. Often in my blogs I talk about the freedom that the mortgage industry allows me. This is a freedom I did not have while I was in Corp. America. Well I have over the last 5+ years been able to help many local small non for profits with everything from fund-raising to awareness to getting people to attend their events. In the end it is great to be able to do things that you love and that can have an impact on others. At the same time in the end you are building a personal brand.
Many times when meeting someone for the first time they will say "Hey your the guy that donated the signed sports photo of that Patriots player for xyz event". The other thing I hear often is wow you really seem to enjoy helping others I would like to talk to you about a cause that I work on and maybe you can give me some help or ideas.
In the end it is good to be known for things that you love to do. To many people do things ONLY to get their name out for marketing. I must say in the long run people see through that. You must do what you love and when you do it will brand you at the same time. Please do read the rest of my blogs. Also if you ever need mortgage advise for MA please do not hesitate calling me.
