Real Estate Market Hot For Low, Mid-Priced Homes: Multiple Offers, Bidding Wars Possible For Houses Priced Near $250K

March home sale snapshot:

- Active listing inventory was 20,628 at end of month

- Under contract listings were up 15% to 4,826 units compared with Feb 09

- Sales volume (units) totaled 3,206, a 29% increase from last month

- 9,697units sold YTD 08 vs 8,159 units sold YTD 09

- Average sales prices was $232,395, up 7% from prior month
