If you are looking for a little exercise, fun and history all in one this is the place to be. The North Central & York County Heritage Trails combine to make for an amazing 41 miles of bike riding. The trail is mostly crushed stone so it's very easy to ride on and it is mostly shaded so it makes for a great ride even on those hotter days of summer.
I have actually had the pleasure of riding the entire 41 miles this summer. I have been riding on this trail for years but never went any further than New Freedom so this year I decided to ride the whole trail. It has been an awesome experience.
Not only is it a nice leisurely ride but there is so much history along the trail as well. Last weekend we rode to Hanover Junction where there is a museum you can visit. I stood on the same platform where President Lincoln stood while on his way to deliver the Gettysburg Address in 1863.
You should definately make sure you have water and snacks for your journey but there are a few quaint cafes along the trail where you can stop for a rest and refreshments. You will be sharing the trail with other bicyclists, joggers, walkers and horse riders so please remember your manners and be sure to let someone know you are coming up along side them so they aren't startled.
There's still plenty of time this year to get out there and get some exercise for your mind, body and soul. Happy riding!!!
You have to check out The Spencer Silver Mansion in Havre de Grace! It is a wonderful Bed & Breakfast right in the middle of the Historic District on Union Avenue. You have the option to stay in one of the nice rooms in the main house or if you want a little more privacy you can stay in the Carriage House in back.
The guest rooms are warm and welcoming and breakfast was amazing. I have been to many Bed & Breakfasts that offer a continental breakfast but here at The Spencer Silver Mansion we had a hot homemade breakfast with all the trimmings.
There are many places on the grounds to sit and relax, visit with friends or read a good book. Not only are you within walking distance of the Concord Point Lighthouse but there are many other things to enjoy in this quaint town. You can take a delightful stroll on the promenade along the waters edge, enjoy shopping in the many antique and specialty shops or enjoy dining in one of the fine restaurants in town.
There are special events taking place in Havre de Grace yearly that you don't want to miss like the Seafood Festival in August, Friday concerts in the park, the 4th of July festivities, and the list goes on and on.

received an ABR (Accredited Buyer Representitive) certification early in my career because I believe strongly in consumer advocacy and making sure someone was looking out for the buyer's fiduciary interest just as the seller has a listing agent to look out for theirs. This coveted designation is awarded to real estate practitioners by the Real Estate BUYERS AGENT Council (REBAC) of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® who met the specified educational and practical experience criteria. The criteria are: Completed the comprehensive two-day REBAC course in buyer representation Successfully passed a written examination Demonstrated a practical experience of having completed five closed real estate transactions in the field of buyer representation. Received recommendations from two of the real estate practitioners buyer clients. Be a member in good standing with the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®.
