Sunset Lake Hampstead NH ~ A video ride about

I decided to film a little bit of Sunset Lake aka Washpond in Hampstead NH. I used my Kodak z18 for the first past of the video clip and then used my old Canon SD870 point & shoot when we turned around and drove from the opposite direction. I think you can clearly see the difference in the quality of the video.

I had the camera mounted on my dashboard using the Panavise mount I bought and really like how steady it held my camera. The road was full of frost heaves and the ride bumpy. I edited the clip using imovie 09 on my Mac and put it through the smooth out program, I also used voice over for the audio.

Full Moon over Boar's Head in Hampton NH ~ A video moon tour

Moon Rise over the Atlantic

Jay and I took a ride over to the beach the other night in attempts to catch the full moon rising over the ocean. I think there is nothing more magical than seeing the Full Moon rise.... no matter where you are. I've seen it crest over the White Mountains of New Hampshire and beautiful Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor Maine to name a few places but there is nothing like seeing it rise over the ocean and hearing the sounds of nature in the back ground.

I hope you enjoy my little video. It was shot using the Kodakzi8 and in high winds and sub zero wind chill. Meaning it was mighty cold outside!

NH Hoops for Heroes

Hoops for Heroes ~ New Hampshire man has a goal to help our veterans...can you help him? Every shot counts!

Dave Cummings who is a valued staff member of the New Hampshire Association of REALTORS plans to use the basketball court to help raise money and most importantly awareness for our veterans. A a sister of a disabled war vet this endeavor means a lot to me.

Hoops for Heroes

Dave is an awesome guy and I hope he makes his goal of sinking a total of 1 million free throws to raise $1,000,000 for The Fallen Heroes Fund .

Check out Dave's Blog Hoop For Heroes to follow his progress or better yet how about donating to this very worthy cause.

From the Hoops for Heroes Website:

Every shot made shall serve as a reminder of the reverence due those who have honored us with their selfless service to this country. Every dollar raised shall serve to benefit those who now suffer for that sacrifice. To all Veterans, though it will never be enough, this is our solemn thank you.

Playing around with Video part 2

I took the advice that people were kind of enough to leave on my first Playing Around With Video post and this heavily edited video is the result.

On this one I did a complete voice over after I learned how to mute the original sound thanks to Mark Passerby. When I shot this video originally last fall, I used a tripod and I was in a moving car, even so it was very very jerky. I was able to smooth most but not all of the jerks out of the finished video in the editing stage. I can't believe I did it!

My husband and I both tried the voice over, just to see who sounded better and it came out kind of funny with the both of us doing it that I decided to leave it in.

This is not a professional video by any stretch...just my attempt to learn and share with those that want to learn with me. If you haven't read the comments on my original post and you want to learn some video tricks and tips you really should go read them. Many folks left awesome tips!

The camera I used was Kodakzi8 and I used iMovie 09 on my Macbook Pro to do all the editing. I tied using the Ken Burns effect but it didn't work too well. I need to work on that a little more.

So tell me what you think of video number two.

Playing with Video

I've been playing around with videos and trying to learn how to edit them. I must admit the learning curve for me has been long and painful and even with on line tutorials I still needed to get myself a Dummies book.

This video consisted of several clips totaling 12 minutes...way too long for a listing video. So I set out to try and get rid of as much of it as possible and while I think this is still a bit long at a little over 5 minutes, the property is unique with acreage and a barn that I also wanted to highlight.

I also played around with voice over for the first time and used it only in the beginning as the car (with dirty windshield) was driving up the very long driveway. Once inside the house what you hear is me winging it.

Over all I'm pleased with my very amateur attempt and I realize video will be even bigger in 2010 so I want to learn as much as I can.

Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions that would be great.

Thanks and Happy New Year!
