Two inches of Snow
Cataloochie decided to start making snow on October 28, 2008. This is the earliest of any ski resort on the east coast. Cataloochie Winter Resort in Maggie Valley has been open for a longer season in recent years due to increased snow making potential.
Mother Nature also pitched in with a natural snow fall totaling 2 inches for Maggie Valley and Waynesville in Haywood County, North Carolina. That's early!
This year was a great year for apples. They are bigger and better and more affordable than ever. Barbers Orchard is open with the fresh apple turnovers, apple cider and other goodies. The farmers markets are full of a wide variety of apples. Some are 'keepers' that last for many months and some are ready to eat now. Check out the different ones to see which ones you like best!
While you are in the area, I have 3 lots for sale in Barbers Orchard that start in price at $12,995!!! These lots have magnificent views and a well maintained neighborhood.
The following link will take you to this lot for sale.

(Western North Carolina) This season's leaf colors are as brilliant as we can remember in recent years. Maggie Valley is just past the prime but the lower elevations such as Waynesville and Cherokee are just looking spectacular! Come see our Fall Decorations and pick up a pumpkin for Thanksgiving.
Many festivals and craft shows are planned during this time. This is one of the most popular times to visit the mountains. Rent a mountain get away from www.carolinavacations.com
FDIC Foreclosures create a lot of activity in the Maggie Valley market. In fact these are the first ever FDIC foreclosures in Haywood County in recent history.
To be an FDIC foreclosure a property must be foreclosed upon by the Bank making the original loan. Then the Bank must be closed or placed in receivership. The FDIC then protects the assets as receiver and markets them to the public.
It is a time consuming and complicated process. The main advantage is the reduced pricing offered by the FDIC. This process does create interest. It seems many buyers are interested in purchasing; if they can get a ‘good buy'.
These 6 log cabins and the tract of land are top quality and in an attractive area. The prices are below market value.
Set thermostat to the lowest comfortable setting. For each degree you lower your thermostat in winter, you can save up to 5% on heating bills (depending on your climate). An ENERGY STAR qualified furnace will use about 15% less energy than a standard model. With Thanks from: ashleyhansen@advantageinspection.com
