Here are some events coming up at Chimney Rock State Park in Chimney Rock, NC.

Off the Beaten Path Guided Hike Saturday, March 28: 9-20am; $20, $5 for Annual Passholder, $10 for ages 6-15, $3 for Grady's Kids Club Members. Use your sense of smell to sleuth your way into recognition of our aromatic plant neighbors of field and forest. With so many sap smells out there, participants will learn through the nose many of these silently smelly plants. Natural history and herbal uses go along with the interpretation on this easy 1 1/2 hours walk.

54th Annual Easter Sunrise Service - April 12th; Gates open at 5am and close at 6am for the 6:30am service. No fees charged. Guests are welcome to enjoy the Park for the day. Celebrate the glory of Easter as our guest at this nondenominational community worship. This special service will be filled with song, scripture, special music and spectacular sunrise views over beautiful Lake Lure and Hickory Nut Gorge. Arrive early and dress warmly and bring a flashlight.

Earth Day Activities Homeschool Program - April 13th; 10:30am-noon; $12 per student; $11.50 for parents; Annual Passholders $7 per student and no cost for parents.

5th Annual Bark in the Park - April 18th; 11am-3pm; No additional cost with Park admission. All ages. Chimney Rock goes to the dogs for this special event dedicated to our canine companions. Agiltiy demonstrations, rescue organizations, contests and lots more will keep ou and your pup busy.

Early Arrivals "Simon Says" Guided Bird Walk - April 19th; $19; $3 for Annual Passholders; $8 for ages 6-15; free for Grady's Kids Club Members. Spot spring migrants like Black-throated Warblers, Black and white Warblers, Scarlet Tanagers and Blue-headed Vireos. World-traveled ornithologist and birding expert Simon Thompson is your guide on this easy-to moderate walk.

Wildflower Wonders "Off the Beaten Path" Guided Hike - April 25th; 9-10:30am Cost: 420, $5 for Annual Passholders, $10 for ages 6-15, $3 for Grady's Kids Club Members. Ages: 8 and up. See the diversity of wildflowers at this time of year by taking an interpretive botanical walk into Chimney Rock's rich woodlands. Carry your favorite guide book or come prepared with paper, memory or mere hungry eyes to enjoy this easy 1 1/2 hour show-and -tell stroll.

About Us:

Hi, My name is Jodi Neal. I'm a broker with Keller Williams Mountain Partners in Hendersonville, NC. However, my area of focus is Lake Lure, Rutherford County, and Hendersonville, NC. I live in Lake Lure and absolutely love it. The Keller Williams office in Hendersonville opened only 4 years ago and we are growing at a rapid pace. I Came on board with Keller Williams in Aug of 06. I wanted to work for Keller Williams because of their culture and the family environment. We have some great agents and I couldn't be happier with my company. On a personal note. I raise and show Shetland Sheepdogs (shelties) and also Nigerian Dwarf Goats. The goats are a mini milk goat that produce the most wonderful milk. I make my own cheese, soaps, ice cream and of course drink this wonderful tasty milk. I am a Christian and teach Sunday School, sing in the choir, and am on the cooking committee. I have 2 adult children, one son who lives in Tampa, FL with his wife and 5 yr old son. He is a Tampa fireman/paramedic and his wife teaches at Berkley Private School. My daughter lives in Hendersonville with 7 yr old daughter. My daughter is a nurse at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. My husband was in the Navy for 25 yrs and has been retired from the military for 16 yrs. He now works for a dive company as a dive supervisior. I know, how does he do that living in the mountains??? Well, you would be surprized how many land locked areas need divers. But, at this date he work in Lousiana closing down oil rigs that were damaged by the hurricanes. I love BlueGrass music. We have several Music Barns around the area that have Mountain Music on either Friday or Saturday nights. Some are free, such as the Old Mountain Music in Old Fort, NC. On Friday nights (every Friday night rain or shine). It is such a hoot to see some of these people get up and clog or slow dance. Some of these people are not in good health but when the music starts, they get up and dance and have the time of their life. If you have someone you know who is moving to Western NC, I hope you will remember me and let me help find that new home or property. It is my passion to serve and help others and it would be my greatest pleasure to help find that dream home.

Areas of Expertise

My area of focus is Lake Lure, Rutherford County and Hendersonville. This area has seen alot of growth in the last 5 years. We have many new developments under contruction, even now with the market soft. Lake Lure is about 35 miles SE of Asheville, NC in the beautiful Hickory Nut Gorge, home of Chimney Rock State Park and Lake Lure. Here they have filmed Last of the Mochicans, Dirty Dancing, just to name a few. This lovely area is a true hidden jewel. Here we have 4 seasons, winters and summers are mild and do not have extreme weather. We are tucked in close to the mountains that protect us. We have THE BEST drinking water ever. I know customer service. Have been in customer service most of my life. I thrive on service to others and it is my passion. I love what I do and will give it my all in finding the perfect home for my clients. If I am your seller's agent I will give it my all to market your property and sell it in a reasonable amount of time. I use signs, Homes and Lands magazine, virtual tours, newsletters and flyers. The internet is a big part of my marketing.
