Fayetteville is growing! The Fayetteville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization has put together a useful website http://fampo.org/ regarding the outer loop project. View maps illustrating the proposed Fayetteville Outer Loop. The loop will run from I95 south of Green Springs Rd. in Robeson County to west of US 401, Ramsey st in Cumberland county.
Search by parcel address or pin number to determine sites effected. You can measure point-to-point or area, export map to Word, Outlook, or Powerpoint...its alot like GIS.
This is very important for local Real Estate Agents who may have clients with properties that may proposidly be effected by the Outer Loop project. Disclose, disclose, disclose.
If you have questions you can also stop by and talk to someone at the FAMPO's office located on the second floor of the Historic Courthouse Building (130 Gillespie St.) one block south of Market Square in downtown Fayetteville.

Fayetteville is growing and changing. There is the downtown revitalization going on and there is the Cape Fear Valley Hospital expansion, these are both well known. Here are 5 other "Hot Spots" around town that are growing and changing...take a drive around the area if you have not been in a while.
•1. North Spring Lake - There is some speculation as to the housing boom that may occur in the future. There has been some retail development over the past few years, which have really made Spring Lake a more desirable place to call home to people. Close to Fort Bragg, and Pope this area offers convenience as well. Keep an eye on this region.
•2. Hope Mills - Experiencing rapid growth that started with the addition of a Wal-Mart a few years back. The Grays Creek and Waldo's Beach area is developing with new housing developments and a developing retail spaces. Further South/ Southwest in Cumberland County the once baron farm land that was the view on the way to Raeford is now replaced with new home developments, new commercial development, and retail space.
•3. Ramsey Street - Since the connection that 295 (connecting eastern & northern Cumberland Co.) Ramsey St. has become the target of development. A new Wal-Mart has popped up along with banks and movie stores. Cape Fear Valley Health System has also just opened a Center just last month for that end of town too. Close to Methodist College and Golf, Ramsey St. is an area to watch grow.
•4. Owen Drive - Construction on the Cape Fear Valley Hospital is nearing completion it looks like. Adding a 5 story parking garage and a 6 story patient tower called the Valley Pavilion. Due to this, new retailers are looking to this end of town. There is also a upscale retail/residential development in the works for nearby Village Drive. This area is peppered with charming older homes, and close to various schools and shopping centers.
•5. Cross Creek Mall - New apartments along Cliffdale, and new office building at the corner of Cliffdale and Skibo being built. The Mall itself just in the past few years, updated it food court. Macys, Belk, Kohls, Circuit City, ColdStone Creamery and more draw people from 45 minutes away and more to this area.
With all the changes in the area....it will be interesting to see the New Fayetteville over the next few years.
