The November Cape Coral Home Sales number are out and once again the numbers are good. With the close of November Cape Coral Home Sales have eclipsed the 4000 mark for MLS sales. Buyers, now more than ever recognize that at the current prices the homes are Below Replacement Costs.
A while back Lee County and the Boston Red Sox Hammered out a Deal concerning staying in Lee County.
It was reported today in the News Press that ' Lee County Commissioners today narrowly approved a lease agreement with the Boston Red Sox for a new spring training complex in south Fort Myers. The new lease agreement is for a term of 30 years and has the Red Sox paying the county $500,000 per year. '

According to the Southwest Florida Real Estate Investors Association who has been tracking the number of foreclosures in Lee County the numbers of foreclosures have dropped in a significant way. While the number of foreclosures have been steadily rising since November of 2007 and peaked at 2665 homes in October 08 with 2665 homes they dropped significantly to 1681 in November. Pair this up with the lack of new building permits and maybe there are signals that the real estate market is going to turn the corner.

Cape Coral reported for the month of November only 4 new home permits. While not good news for the construction industry this is a natural process due to the excess of available single family homes. As the homes are purchase the supply will diminish. I believe in the future there will be strong demand for newer homes in Cape Coral and with the lack of building that demand will not be able to be met.

I blogged previously about the possibility of building an Ice Rink and Hotel next to Sunsplash in Cape Coral. It was reported today that Ft. Myers based Creighton Development was the only group to provide a proposal to the city. The city's Department of Community Development will be reviewing the plans. As the city continues to grow it seems to make sense that these facilities be built.
